The CNC Programmer / Machine Tool Engineer / CNC Machinist will have strong experience working on a range of CNC machines including lathes, grinders, and mills. The ideal candidate will be proficient in

CNC Programmer / Machine Tool Engineer / CNC Machinist Role
- Based in Canastota, NY, with occasional travel to client locations if required.
- Write and modify CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and lathes.
- Review CAD blueprints and translate designs into CNC programs.
- Assist machinists during CNC machine set-up and resolve technical issues.
- Select the appropriate cutting tools and define the sequence of operations for each job.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues with CNC machines.
- Work with engineering and internal teams to develop accurate product quotes and technical solutions.
- Train junior technicians and machinists on CNC operations.
- Maintain safety compliance and ensure all tasks are carried out in line with company regulations.
CNC Programmer / Machine Tool Engineer / CNC Machinist Requirements
- At least 4 years’ experience in CNC programming with 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and lathes.
- Proficiency in Mastercam and SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and experience with CNC machines.
- Strong math skills, particularly in algebra, trigonometry, and physics.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of metal shop equipment and machining processes.
- Experience with CMMs and CNC Mills is a plus.
- High school diploma required, technical certifications or related education preferred.

Job Overview The Cost Analyst will oversee financial operations for one or more projects, including cost accounting, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
They will develop cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools; and analyze project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify labor, material, equipment, and service requirements.
They will use benchmark data, trends, prior estimates, and historical pricing schedules to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and potential cost variations.
They may use different estimating methods, mathematical models, or specialized estimating software tools to generate estimates depending on the complexity and type of project.
The Cost Analyst will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Responsibilities: 1.
Proposal Pricing & Compliance: a.
Lead the cost volume development for proposals (DoD, Prime Contractors).
b.
Prepare detailed cost models and pricing strategies compliant with FAR and CAS.
c.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, Program Management) to gather input and validate cost assumptions.
d.
Interface with government auditors and DCAA representatives as needed.
e.
Ensure adequate documentation and audit readiness of all cost proposals and estimates.
2.
Financial Planning & Analysis: a.
Develop cost and margin forecasts in support of quarterly forecasts and annual budgeting processes.
b.
Provide cost data to support make/buy decisions and capital investment evaluations.
c.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements in operations and procurement.
3.
Internal Controls & Systems: a.
Support system improvements and automation of cost and pricing functions (ERP integration, pricing tools).
b.
Ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures related to cost accounting and pricing.
Qualifications: 1.
Education & Experience: a.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR Associate’s Degree and equivalent combination of relevant education &/or experience.

Minimum 3 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
c.
Minimum 3 years of experience developing federal proposal pricing or similar experience (DoD experience strongly preferred).

Uncommon High School Math teachers work in grade teams and content teams to push students towards being self-guided learners. The Downtown Committee of Syracuse is a downtown management organization whose purpose is to improve downtown's image, strengthen its economic base, increase its attractiveness, and assure that it's clean, safe, and accessible. The primary focus of the outdoor maintenance crew is to keep Downtown Syracuse clean and attractive. The maintenance crew is responsible for litter control, graffiti removal, power washing, lawn mowing, weeding, snowplowing, landscaping, and street furniture repair and maintenance.
Reports To: Environmental Maintenance Supervisor
Rate is $21/hour.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to operate small equipment, tractors/bobcat and perform small engine maintenance
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to crouch, bend and stoop
- Ability to perform job duties in a variety of outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and retain information
- Ability to use trade tools
- Must be able to use cell phone and other equipment as required
- Requires frequent lifting or carrying of objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure, a positive attitude, and be a team-player.
Qualifications and Experience:
Responsible, self-motivated individual with a positive outlook who can learn quickly and follow instructions accurately. A valid NYS Driver's License is required along with a good driving record. Experience driving a truck, van, tractor and utility vehicles to transport equipment, supplies, materials and debris. Must conform to a dress code and High School Degree is preferred. Experience in landscaping and mowing preferred.
