Boeing Engineering & Technical Innovation is seeking talented individuals to join our Integrated Vehicle Systems team as a Senior Flight Engineering Manager to lead our Aerosciences team based in Hazelwood, MO and will require periodic travel to engage with cross-site teams, functional and business unit stakeholders, and customers.
This individual will manage and lead a team of talented engineers responsible for ensuring state-of-the-art development, application and transition of tools, methods and technologies across Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), applied aerodynamics, aero-acoustics and flow control addressing strategic capability needs from Boeing Commercial and Defense business units. The successful candidate will develop and maintain an expert, diverse team that supports Boeing’s one-company culture by collaborating with business units and functional partners.
Position Responsibilities:
- Sets strategic direction, growing and managing a portfolio comprised of internal and external research & development and business unit support.
- Provides resources, removes roadblocks and empowers team to ensure technical excellence within budget and schedule constraints
- Provides oversight of technical approaches, products and processes
- Interfaces with other organizations, internal/external customers, and suppliers to ensure alignment and successful execution of portfolio priorities, plans and project completion.
- Serves as the Lab Manager for a Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD computing lab and an Advanced Aeromechanical Control Effector Systems (AACES) lab.
- Determines staffing resource requirements, acquires talent, manages redeployment as necessary.
- Works with subordinates to establish and evaluate employee development and performance.
This position is onsite in Hazelwood, MO and offers relocation assistance.
Qualifications
This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelors of Science degree from an ABET-accredited university in a relevant engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in Flight Engineering disciplines (Boeing specific occupation code “6E”)
- 2+ years of related technical management and/or technical leadership experience
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of engineers and leaders.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

Leads the St Joseph Manufacturing Engineering, Operational Excellence and Maintenance teams to support and lead the development and optimization the manufacturing processes across the St. Joseph campus. How you will do it
Technical Oversight
- Develop and Implement strategies to improve manufacturing processes ensuring quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency in our operation.

- Drive the consistent implementation of the US/CAN Manufacturing Operating system across St. Joseph partnering with other sites and regional teams ensuring best practices are followed.

- Oversee maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems including PLCs, robotics, and control systems.

- Lead commissioning and integration of new equipment and technologies.
- Lead / Support strategic projects (expansion, capacity increase, new model launch).

Reliability Engineering
- Lead reliability initiatives including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
- Implement and optimize predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil sampling).
- Monitor and improve key metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and develop a team of various engineers, maintenance leaders, and skilled tradespeople.
- Build technical training programs and career pathways for salaried hourly employees.

Budget & Resource Management

The Role We Want You For
The primary function of the Structural Steel Estimator, Steel Procurement is to provide accurate bid proposals for Structural Steel and scope analysis for potential construction projects.
The Specifics of the Role
- Responsible for accurate material quantity take-off.
- Develops comprehensive, detailed proposal for the project estimated.
- Maintain project budget throughout each project, with profit and loss accountability.
- Identify opportunities for change orders and establish cost where applicable.
- Prepare, issue and track change order status for material above and beyond the original contract.
- Develop options and recommend best value solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials.
- Additional responsibilities include quote review, project management, and material purchasing.
- Ensure department achieves goals through management and leadership mentality.
- Functions as Lead Estimator.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or Engineering discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals.
- Knowledge and understanding of building construction combined with steel design concepts presented on architectural and engineering drawings.
- Ability to prepare proposals with minimum supervision.
- Candidates must have a strong understanding of detailed estimating, estimating techniques and cost control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates should be able to clearly articulate bid inclusions, exclusions, and proposal clarifications with owners and subcontractors.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- Review proposals, specifications, drawing, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and develop quantity take-offs.
- Develops and maintains relationships with general contractor.
- Responsible for buyout process with Project Manager.
- Knowledge of construction principles/practices required.
- Problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.
- Project set up, budget planning, buy out, and cost reporting experience is a must.
- Good understanding of critical path scheduling.
- Energetic and highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
- Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to work equally well on own as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite, On-Screen Estimating software, and ACC Build.
