A Day in the Life of the Sales Engineer
In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of engineering, preconstruction, and business development. You’ll help shape structural steel projects during the pursuit phase by developing buildable solutions, supporting estimating and pricing strategies, and serving as the technical expert during client conversations. Your work helps ensure projects are not only won, but structured for safe, efficient, and profitable execution.
Responsibilities include:
- Review bid documents including structural drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, clarifications, and potential risk items related to structural steel fabrication and erection
- Provide technical input to estimating teams including tonnage assumptions, connection design approaches, and temporary works considerations
- Contribute to pricing strategies by identifying major cost drivers and risk factors
- Participate in go/no-go evaluations and pursuit planning
- Serve as the technical representative during meetings with owners, general contractors, architects, and engineers of record
- Present structural steel solutions, means and methods, and value engineering opportunities
- Support negotiated work, design-assist, and design-build pursuits
- Translate project goals into constructible and cost-effective steel solutions
- Participate in early-stage coordination with design teams to influence structural systems and sequencing
- Assist with development of delegated design scopes where applicable
- Collaborate with internal engineering and detailing teams to ensure alignment with execution capabilities

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
- Strong working knowledge of structural steel systems, fabrication, erection, and design
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience evaluated steel constructibility factors such as erection sequencing, crane access, or temporary bracing
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred

The Maintenance Plumber performs basic preventive maintenance as assigned on all equipment/machinery located in the Ogden IRS building.
The Maintenance Plumber assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes, studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required, and sequence of installations. This worker inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe, and locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
This worker cuts openings in walls and floors, performs trenching by hand or power equipment to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools, cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine, bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine. The Maintenance Plumber assembles and installs valves, pipefittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic. This person joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints, fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking, installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, water softeners and clogged toilets. This person repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains, inspections of drains using specialized camera systems and may weld holding fixtures to steel structural members. This person will spot utilities, repair water mains, hydrants and valves. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Working Conditions:
May require exposure to disagreeable conditions including sewers, mud, sand, dirt, trenches, grease, caustic chemicals, paint/gasoline fumes, equipment noise and vibration, inclement weather and dampness and confined spaces. May be subject to irregular shift hours if required.

In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, the Senior Systems Engineer provides expert-level engineering support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
The role assists government leadership with systems engineering planning, execution, technical oversight, and lifecycle management to ensure compliance with program specifications and mission objectives.
Essential Job Functions: Engineering & Technical Oversight Conduct program and portfolio reviews to evaluate technical baselines, alternative plans, system designs, and test results.
Design and perform system-level tests to ensure subsystem and overall system performance meets approved specifications.
Validate systems through development of evaluation criteria and analysis of engineering results.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations supporting planning, implementation, and corrective actions.
Acquisition & Lifecycle Support Provide engineering support across acquisition phases including material solution analysis, technology maturation, engineering and manufacturing development, production, deployment, installation, and operations oversight.
Support proposal analysis activities by evaluating technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness.
Assist with source documentation including ICDs, CDDs, CPDs, AoAs, Military Utility Assessments, CONOPS, Technology Development Strategies, FCAs/PCAs, and Technology Standards Profiles.
Technical Management & Configuration Control Support requirements definition and analysis, architecture design and implementation, system integration, verification and validation.
Provide engineering support for risk management, configuration management, technical data management, interface management, and version control processes.
Assist in development of Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), Risk Management Plans (RMP), and other acquisition documentation.
Trade Studies & Risk Management Conduct formal trade studies evaluating performance, cost effectiveness, lifecycle cost, reliability, maintainability, productivity, risk, and schedule impacts.
Provide independent assessments of system readiness for production and risk mitigation.
Technical Reviews & Assessments Support planning and execution of technical reviews such as System Requirements Reviews (SRR) and Technology Readiness Assessments (TRA).
Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation and ensure proper linkage between systems-of-systems architectures.
