Primary Responsibilities:

• Create structural analyses and designs for reinforced concrete, shallow foundation, pile/caisson, structural steel, reinforced masonry, and other metal structures of moderate to high complexity to meet client project requirements.
• Facilitate and direct the development of structural models, drawings, and specifications.
• Performs structural condition assessments.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create designs, develop systems, and/or new product/processes.
• Identify deficiencies in processes and develop creative solutions and improvements; sketches, layouts, and plans.
• Collaborate with engineering team members in cross-functional settings to ensure that the designs are accurate and that contract responsibilities are met according to clients’ expectations.
• Develop preliminary and detailed drawings, utilizing the AutoDesk Software Suite.
• Builds models and prototypes of the product/processes and tests the design using 2-D/3-D drafting.
• Prepare technical reports and provide suggestions for corrections.
• Directly interface with clients for engineering and design consultations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering. Other training and relevant professional experience will be considered,
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with the deployment of industrial automation solutions (hardware and software) and practical experience with activities such as design specifications, software development, acceptance testing, commissioning, and qualification,
• Experience with the design and deployment of industrial network infrastructure and IIoT solutions preferred,
• Technical knowledge and practical experience with at least one industrial platform solution from Rockwell, Aveva or Siemens, formal certification preferred,
• Familiar with agile software development methodologies (processes and standards),
• Knowledgeable in relational databases and programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Functional Block Diagram, Structured Text, Python, C#/C++, MS SQL, etc.,
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills,
• Good communicator, fluent in English, spoken and written,
• Experience with the regulated industry requirements preferred,
• Willing to travel to manufacturing/customer sites when required.

Position Overview

The Construction Project Manager will lead commercial building projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical building expertise and a proven background working directly for a General Contractor (not civil contractors or specialty subcontractors).

The ideal candidate has successfully managed large-scale commercial building projects in one or more of our core sectors: education, healthcare, multi-family, mixed-use, and aviation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full project lifecycle: preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules and cost controls
• Oversee subcontractor procurement and contract administration
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control, and regulatory requirements
• Manage project financials including forecasting, change management, and cost reporting
• Lead OAC meetings and provide clear communication to all stakeholders
• Mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager working directly for a Commercial General Contractor
• Proven experience delivering ground-up or major renovation commercial building projects
• Project experience in at least one of the following markets: Education, Healthcare, Multi-Family, Mixed-Use or Aviation
• Strong knowledge of building systems (structural, MEP, envelope, interiors)
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets ranging from $10M–$100M+
• Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

Important: Candidates with backgrounds exclusively in civil construction, infrastructure, or specialty subcontracting will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree
• Experience with healthcare or aviation projects involving complex phasing and regulatory coordination
• LEED accreditation or sustainable building experience
• Strong local knowledge of the Raleigh / Triangle construction market
