Director of Manufacturing

The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for leading and optimizing all manufacturing operations for a company specializing in electro‑mechanical parts. This role oversees daily production, process engineering, quality, supply chain, and materials management to ensure on‑time delivery, cost efficiency, safety, and product quality. The Director will develop strategies to scale operations, improve throughput, strengthen supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Manufacturing Operations Leadership

  • Lead day‑to‑day manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production of electro‑mechanical assemblies and components.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to meet production targets, quality standards, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Oversee Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Materials teams.
  • Drive safety culture, compliance, and facility readiness.

Supply Chain & Materials Management

  • Direct all supply chain activities, including procurement, supplier management, planning, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Establish sourcing strategies that reduce risk and improve cost, quality, and lead times.
  • Improve inventory accuracy, optimize material flow, and balance stock levels with production needs.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and ensure continuity of supply for critical electro‑mechanical components.

Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Analyze performance metrics (OEE, scrap rate, on‑time delivery, cost per unit, inventory turns) and execute corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on product transitions, NPI (New Product Introduction), and manufacturability improvements.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build, mentor, and develop high‑performing operational and supply chain teams.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Quality to align operational capabilities with business goals.
  • Support budgeting, capital planning, and technology upgrades for manufacturing expansion or efficiency.


Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably electro‑mechanical or related industries.
  • Proven experience managing both manufacturing operations and supply chain functions.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling operations, improving processes, and managing complex supplier networks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
