The Systems Engineering, Integrated Systems Department is seeking a Systems Engineering Technical Lead for the NASAMS product line. This role requires strong technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class air and missile defense systems.

The Integrated Systems Department supports Raytheon by providing world-class weapon systems engineering. Domain expertise includes radar systems, effector systems, battle management, command and control, network design, battlespace integration, and interoperability for both domestic and international customers.

You will work alongside motivated engineers who are responsible for conducting systems engineering studies and trades; supporting system requirements definition and analysis; and contributing to algorithm development, integration, test, and evaluation.

What You Will Do

• Provide technical oversight and management for a variety of Systems Engineering efforts

• Concept and requirements development (including decomposition and flowdown) within a mature product-line

• Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development and design

• Algorithm optimization and development

• Multi-disciplinary development efforts across the kill-chain for an Air and Missile Defense System

• Collaboration with customer to bring new capabilities to the warfighter

• Functional analysis of real world and test data; trade studies to bring advanced features to fielded system

• Support and lead Internal and External Program and Design Reviews

• Collaborate with other IPT/CPT leads from the various functions and products

• Support and lead Internal Research and Development for future capability upgrades

• System integration and test support, including live fire test events

• Periods of travel up to 25% of time both domestically and internationally

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience

• Experience with Air Defense Systems in systems engineering roles supporting development or production

• Experience with managing budget, scope and/or earned value

Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon for a Semiconductor Dry Etch Engineering Lead to join our III-V compound semiconductor foundry team fabricating gallium nitride and gallium arsenide-based devices within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department.  This role requires a broad understanding of microelectronics processing and subject matter expertise in one or more dry etch related techniques including plasma ashing/descum, reactive ion etching (RIE), and inductively coupled etching (ICP).

As a member of the AMS Department, the individual in this role will serve as the dry etch processes lead engineer and collaborate with the various engineering work centers in the III-V semiconductor wafer foundry. The candidate will lead and assist projects in process sustainment, capital allocation, directing process and capital qualifications, improving cycle time, improving product yield, developing new data driven controls, and driving overall wafer movement efficiency.

The chosen candidate is expected to be an innovative and creative thinker capable of probing issues and reaching solutions both independently and in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of various microelectronics processing techniques beyond deposition, including wet and dry etching, lift-off techniques, photolithography, metrology, process characterization, foundry data integrity, and large data analysis methods.

The candidate is expected to work well in large and small, cross-functional teams, understand foundry processes, determine capacity limitations, improve overall equipment effectiveness, identify yield improvement opportunities, gather sponsorship and team resources, and execute on continuous improvement activities. Presence on the foundry floor is essential for quick resolution of technical issues as well as the ability to work with operations, facilities, equipment, and quality teams. Naval Power is seeking a highly motivated Production Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for the SPY-6 Array production program’s Array Build, Integration & Testing. This position reports to the SPY-6 Production Array Program Manager and leads the execution efforts of the recurring production sell-off.  This lead will be responsible for ensuring that equipment delivery commitments are made on time and within budget, focusing on Array Build Integration & Testing, and RHS assembly builds, including Mechanical Structures & RMA Chassis material. They are responsible for removing barriers and defining solutions that support the Production IPT and program.

As an Control Account Manager, you’ll be assigned to one or more LTAMDS programs and will be responsible for providing innovative and trusted solutions that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Land and Air Defense products and services over their life cycle. As a Deployment Fielding and Sustainment (DFS) CAM, the successful candidate will support the DFS program Leads, LTAMDS Program Control Account Managers, and Program leads in the successful completion of monthly Earned Value Management (EVM) inputs, reporting and analysis, monthly Budget Change Requests (BCRs), facilitate EAC and LRE inputs, and demonstrate the ability to perform meaningful analysis and effective communication to drive predictable results. Scope of work includes partnering with engineering and program leads for EVMS process inputs, EAC/LRE development, monthly variance reporting, and weekly analysis of cost and labor runs. The role focuses on driving cost control and schedule using APEX/SAP EV, IMS, and PMX management reporting tools. Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Sr. Principal RF Module Design/Development Engineer to join our Module Development Section with the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department as a technical lead. The AMS department designs, fabricates, and tests state-of-the-art Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs) in our on-site foundry. These chips are designed into custom modules to support multiple programs and enhance the capabilities of next generation radar systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the technical design and development of RF/microwave modules containing GaAs- and GaN-based monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) products. This would be in active support of existing technologies in production as well as next generation products in development. This position requires a strong academic background and experience in RF/Microwave Design, Development, Integration & Test.

What You Will Do:

• Designing RF structures and transitions on multi-layer, multi-channel RF Modules and analog circuitry enabling both receive and transmit behavior

• Consulting across RF module design, MMIC design and assembly teams

• Troubleshooting RF Modules that are prototyped and under development

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field and Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience (An advanced STEM degree could count for 3 years of experience) with Microwave/RF module, subsystem and component analysis, design, and test

• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• A Master’s degree or PhD. in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field 

• Experience leading teams and/or projects

• Experience in module/sub-system assembly & packaging process

• Experience in thermal modeling and analysis.

• Experience of different topology trade-offs, process and active/passive component selection, system/sub-system level, gain-loss analysis and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level

• Hands-on experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST.

• Layout experience in Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition, Cadence Virtuoso or AutoCAD

• Experience with analytical tools such as Matlab, Python, or JMP

• Experience in cost estimating, budget and schedule management

• Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level

• Experience in a production environment

• Experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)

• Experience with GaAs and/or GaN MMIC devices       

• Current DoD Secret level security clearance

Raytheon is currently seeking a Test Equipment Design Engineer (Test Development Engineer II) to join the Sensor Test Solutions (STS) Department. This is an excellent position for engineers with a background in electrical design and software programming/automation, along with a desire to apply those skills to developing, building, and integrating advanced test platforms and architectures.  

You will be joining a project team responsible for the development of test solutions and architectures for various programs within Raytheon. Typical test development applications include analog/digital, RF, High Power, and embedded software/firmware design activities. Test architectures include a blend of customized and COTS Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), along with custom electro-mechanical holding fixtures and associated interface cabling and harnessing.

Engineers in this role will also have exposure to the full lifecycle development process - from the requirements definition phase of the test solution design process through the verification and final system sell-off in a production facility or field/depot environment.

This role is 100% onsite in Tewksbury, MA

What You Will Do

• Develop test hardware, software, and/or firmware, from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities. These test capabilities may span multiple disciplines (Power, RF, Analog, Digital)

• Actively identify test readiness issues and optimizations throughout the development lifecycle.

• Understand and meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments

• Guide mechanical engineering and/or suppliers through test adapter design activities, with moderate support from senior engineers.

• Work effectively within a team, or function as an individual contributor as needed, working autonomously with limited supervision

• Engage in personal technical growth

• Prepare and clearly present your work product at project status meetings

• Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant engineering experience

• Experience in electrical engineering design and/or software automation concepts and applications
