Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer Sr Location: Roanoke, VA/ New Albany, OH and Tulsa, OK Duration: 12+ Months (Contract to Hire) 40 hour work week.

Flex schedule- 4x 10hr or 5x 8hr.

No OT expected.

Possible site visits but overnight travel is not expected.

Minimum Requirements: Has typically acquired 4-6 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in a program accredited by ABET, Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S.

state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred.

ABET
- Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

Acceptable alternatives: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master’s degree in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor’s program.

Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.

Specific Duties Include: Develop detailed technical training plan and content for Station Engineering.

Training plans will include entry level tasks up to advanced line engineering tasks.

Topics for Training include: Engineering and design work related to Substation Physical design including: Provide engineering for substation capital projects Complete grounding, lightning shielding, and lighting studies Prepare station configuration and layouts Work with project planners to develop substation solutions Develop station project functional and detail scoping documents working with all project stakeholders Assist project managers with the development and maintenance of station engineering activities and deliverables within Primavera P6 project schedules Oversee work performed by internal designers or consulting engineering firms on the design of select projects Provide support to construction and professional field service personnel to resolve issues and concerns during the construction phase of projects Prepare project construction documents including: plan and profile drawings; design drawings; engineering, material and construction specifications; project schedules and bills of material.

Communicate effectively verbally and written to facilitate on schedule and on budget project performance.

Develop design alternatives and cost estimates for proposed projects.

Work effectively with internal and external customers, government and regulatory agencies and contractors to secure permits, refine design alternatives and other liaison activities to bring project to completion.

Monitor project expenditures and schedules.

Conduct bid and construction meetings as needed.

Work with Project Management, Substation design, Distribution, Supply Chain and Right of Way as needed.

Function as a Lead SME on multiple topics.

Provide leadership and training of personnel as requested.

Experience and/knowledge of Station Engineering is required 2.

Knowledge of NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) Code and current industry standards required.

Competence with AutoCadd desired.

4.

Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is required.

Ability to become proficient in new software applications is required
