Position Summary


The Analyst of Capital Markets plays a key part in driving the company’s real estate financing and capital markets strategy by supporting the underwriting, structuring, and execution of property-level debt transactions. Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and execution of loan solicitation and financing, including property underwriting, preparation of property overviews and financing packages, evaluation of lender proposals, and assistance with loan documentation and due diligence
  • Partner with multiple cross-functional teams to gather required information and assemble financing request materials.

  • Coordinate and incorporate third-party reports, including engineering, environmental, seismic, zoning, and appraisal reports, to provide a comprehensive view of property and portfolio performance.
  • Conduct property-level and portfolio-level financial analysis as needed, to support financing and investment decisions.
  • Assist with the evaluation of potential investments and preparation of approval memos used to evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with lenders and other capital source providers following loan closing by assisting with securitization processes, reporting, and compliance questions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in real estate required.
  • Experience in real estate mortgage credit with an understanding of capital structures and the loan closing process is preferred.
  • Financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with Chatham Direct, Argus and PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Exposure to real estate transactions including familiarity with loan documentation, underwriting, and closing processes is a plus.

What You Might Work On

As an SRE, you may be responsible for a subset of the following, depending on team placement and skill alignment:

Reliability & Systems Engineering

  • Support the reliability, availability, and performance of distributed systems across cloud, edge, and device environments.

The Role:

We are looking for a Director, Environmental Permitting, to lead and scale all environmental functions supporting development, permitting, construction, and operations of on-site power generation to support large data center loads across the U.S.

You will be responsible for leading all environmental strategy, permitting, compliance, and regulatory interface activities for Scale Microgrids Data Center business, providing executive-level oversight of environmental risk management across natural gas generation facilities, data center infrastructure, and electric transmission and distribution assets. This is a leadership role with strategic and operational accountability. Environmental risk can kill a project quietly and expensively, and this role ensures our portfolio moves forward with regulatory certainty, disciplined compliance, and long-term operational stability.

The role reports to our Chief Development Officer, Data Centers, and is based in either our NYC, Ridgewood, NJ, Santa Monica/Oakland, CA, or Chicago offices.

Key responsibilities will include:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute environmental strategies for all projects.
  • Identify environmental risks early in project development and integrate mitigation strategies into siting, engineering, and financial modeling.
  • Serve as the environmental authority for executive leadership.
  • Build and lead the environmental team as the portfolio scales.

Permitting & Regulatory Strategy

  • Direct permitting strategy for natural gas generation facilities, data centers, substations, transmission infrastructure, and distribution systems.
  • Oversee federal, state, and local environmental permitting, including Clean Air Act permitting (Title V, PSD, minor source permits), Clean Water Act Sections 404 and 401, stormwater and NPDES compliance, wetlands and listed species coordination, cultural resource coordination, and NEPA documentation where applicable.
  • Develop permitting schedules aligned with project development milestones.
  • Lead negotiations and interface with agencies, including the Department of Environmental Protection, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and local jurisdictions and water management districts.

Compliance & Operational Oversight

  • Ensure compliance across development, construction, and operational phases.
  • Establish internal environmental compliance frameworks and reporting systems.

Position Summary:

Compliance Officer facilitates the Credit Union's compliance strategy and reviews changes in regulations to ensure compliance with all credit union related laws and regulations. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the institution's compliance management system and it ensures that all required compliance related policies and procedures are enforced and reviewed periodically for adequateness.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct reports.


Essential Functions:

  • Monitor and analyze developing trends and changes in regulatory compliance laws, rules, and regulations. Facilitate implementation of new and regulatory changes as necessary.
  • Develop, participate in, and review proposed changes to Credit Union policies and procedures for compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Perform research and provides input regarding compliance matters relevant to the products and services offered, including marketing and promotional materials, website, lending documents, and member disclosures.
  • Oversee the completion and submission of required Bank Secrecy Act regulatory reports including Suspicious Activity and Currency Transaction Reports.
  • Coordinate procedures for compliance with OFAC, FinCEN, and other government watchlist scans.
  • Coordinate, test and update the Credit Union's business continuity plan.

Salary range:
The compensation model varies depending upon the course delivery format. For a synchronous Live Online course, a reasonable estimate for this position is $3,000 -$4,000 total per course. For an asynchronous Start Anytime Online course, this position is paid $165 per final student course grade submitted each month; a reasonable estimate ranges from $660 - $21,285 total per course; and monthly payments typically begin within 6 months after the course start date. Instructor compensation is determined by course length, number of units, enrollment, budgetary considerations, and other factors.

Percent time:
Part-time by agreement on a course-by-course basis.

Anticipated start:
Some appointments may begin as early as the spring semester.

UC Berkeley Extension (UNEX), the continuing education branch of the University of California, Berkeley, has been building bridges between UC Berkeley and the public since 1891. UNEX serves the professional and continuing education goals of thousands of people each year and plays an essential part of the University mission to: extend the research and scholarship of UC Berkeley to a global community; increase access to higher education for non-traditional, online, and international students; and improve the workforce. UC Berkeley Extension is a part of the division under the leadership of the Dean of Extended Education that also includes Berkeley Summer Sessions, Berkeley Study Abroad, and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

General Duties

The department seeks candidates who can support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy. Specific duties and expectations will vary depending on the method of instruction including: Synchronous Live Online (Zoom); or Asynchronous Online (Start Anytime).




  • For synchronous instruction (live online courses), duties include but are not limited to: syllabus development; assignment development; lesson planning for class meetings; preparing and submitting required texts and course materials; reviewing and updating Canvas course site; and delivering lectures, presentations, and learning activities for all required hours of instruction.
  • For asynchronous instruction (start anytime online courses), duties include but are not limited to: reviewing the syllabus and pre-populated online course content; learning and utilizing Canvas classroom management tools; and requesting any training needs from the Program Director or Department Director.
  • For all instruction (regardless of course format) duties include but are not limited to: completing required trainings as mandated by the UC Presidential policies; responding to student questions and learning needs in a timely manner; grading student assignments and posting final student grades to the instructor portal in a timely manner; utilizing University-approved course support platforms including the Canvas Learning Management System, Zoom, Instructor Portal, Google Workspace, etc.; reviewing and following University and departmental policies, logistics, and other guidelines as published on the departmental Instructional Resource Site; and responding to other requests from the Program Director or Department Director in a timely manner.

Qualifications
