The Claims Analyst supports the Claims Department's Operations and Management Teams by developing/maintaining or supporting business reports, applications, and analytical solutions. This role participates in systems implementations, data management initiatives, and analytics work that strengthens Plymouth Rock's performance in loss management, customer service, expense control, and employee engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Claims leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver recurring reports/visuals and ad hoc datasets using SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, MS Access, Excel and Tableau.
  • Manage the claim department's letter library using low code/no code third party vendor software, including creating/updating letters and creating/maintain automated batch jobs.
  • Collaborate with IT on claims technology initiatives, including but not limited to providing subject matter expertise, writing business requirements, performing user acceptance testing, training and postproduction support.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting automated process and ensure compliance within the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred, ideally in a technical or analytical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics).
  • 1-2 years' experience with SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Access and Visual Studio.

Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Physician Assistant for the department of Surgery at the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction and supervision of a Dr. Keri Lunsford, provides health care services to patients and assist in the management of patients under clinical trial in the Division of Transplant and HPB Surgery at Rutgers NJMS. PA should have specialized knowledge and experience in organ donation, liver transplant, complications of liver transplant, and the evaluation and management of liver transplant patients both prior to and following transplantation. In addition to clinical duties, the PA will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of clinical trial records, assessment of complications occurring following clinical trial enrollment, and entry and audit of clinical data into the data management system. They will be required to undergo training and certification in clinical trial data management and human subjects research, and they will interface with clinical and research personnel. Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Provides documentation for patient clinical assessment for those enrolled in liver transplant clinical trials.
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal and ensure protocol compliance for patients enrolled in liver transplant clinical trials.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provisions of continuity of care for clinical trial patients.
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding enrollment and consent for clinical trials in liver transplant, compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, expected clinical course prior to and following liver transplant, physical frailty, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Graduated from a Physician Assistant Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Certifications/Licenses

  • Certification from the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • New Jersey License from the State Board of Medical Examiners-Physician Advisory Committee. In the case of a new graduate, they may be considered under the condition that he/she successfully takes and passes the Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and the New Jersey License examination from the State Board of Medical Examiners? Physician Assistant Advisory Committee on the first available date following his/her graduation.
  • BLS is required. Applicants lacking the BLS must be certified prior to start date.
  • All requirements must be met prior to employment with Rutgers University.
