Litigation Associate (2–6 Years Experience)

Location: St. Louis, MO

A well-established and highly regarded litigation firm is seeking a mid-level Litigation Associate to join its growing team in St. Louis. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys who want hands-on experience, early courtroom exposure, and the ability to take ownership of their cases in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

About the Role:

Attorneys will work as part of a structured team handling a diverse caseload, with a strong focus on insurance defense matters. The firm places a high value on mentorship and actively encourages associates to gain courtroom experience early in their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft and argue motions
• Take and defend depositions
• Handle written discovery and case strategy
• Independently manage files, with partner guidance as needed
• Participate in court appearances and trial preparation

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• 2–6 years of litigation experience
• Prior insurance defense experience strongly preferred
• Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and case management
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Candidates with criminal defense experience may also be considered

Billable Requirement & Compensation:

• Monthly billable target: 155–200 hours
• Base salary
• Performance-based bonuses
