Sr Project Engineer – Wastewater Conveyor Systems
Location: Atlanta, GA.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Engineer will support and execute engineering and project delivery tasks for wastewater conveyance systems and industrial conveyor equipment (screw conveyors) used in wastewater/sludge/solids handling applications. The ideal candidate bridges detailed technical engineering, project coordination, and customer interface — working from concept through design, fabrication, start-up, and commissioning.
Position Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Interpret customer requirements and specifications for wastewater conveyance or solids-handling conveyor systems; translate into engineering deliverables (drawings, specs, layouts, general arrangement).
• Perform engineering calculations, selection of equipment (motors, drives, conveyance components), and material sizing (structural supports, load calculations, drive sizing) for conveyor systems.
• Prepare project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and budgets; track progress against them.
• Prepare and review equipment/submittal drawings, vendor proposals, shop drawings, and fabrication documents.
• Coordinate with manufacturing/fabrication, purchasing, field installation, and commissioning teams to ensure project milestones are met and quality expectations are achieved.
• Provide technical support in the field (shop visits, installation supervision, start-up, commissioning, testing).
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements relevant to wastewater systems (e.g., hydraulic conveyance, solids handling, environmental/municipal standards) and conveyor design codes.
• Interface with customers, contractors, and internal teams; provide status updates, manage change orders, and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain project documentation (engineering files, change logs, factory test reports) and ensure proper handover for operation/maintenance.

About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on engineer who can build AI-enabled applications end-to-end using Python, with strong skills in prompt engineering and agentic system design (multi-agent/orchestrated AI workflows). Responsibilities:
- Modernize legacy microservices and distributed systems supporting mechanical operations and detector networks.
- Design and implement backend services using Java, Spring Boot, event-driven patterns, and Kafka.
- Scale and optimize high-volume IoT data pipelines (30M+ incoming data points from sensors/detectors).
- Lead architecture, design, and deployment efforts for new and existing services.

The Communications Project Manager will serve as an operational and organizational engine for two fast-moving communications teams.
