We are seeking to hire a Construction Quality Inspector for a new Data Center project in Southern Virginia. The construction quality inspector ensures construction projects adhere to plans, specifications, and regulations. They conduct inspections, assess materials, and document findings, often requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills. They play a crucial role in maintaining quality, safety, and compliance throughout the construction process. Key Responsibilities: Inspections: Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, ensuring adherence to approved plans, specifications, and relevant codes. Material Assessment: Evaluate the quality and suitability of construction materials, including concrete, steel, and other components. Compliance: Verify compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, including photographs, reports, and test results. Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports detailing inspection findings, including any deviations or non-conformances. Communication: Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders regarding inspection results and necessary corrective actions. Problem Solving: Identify potential issues and collaborate with project teams to develop effective solutions. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
8-10 years of experience Prefer mechanical experience, but will take Electrical if needed. Meticulous approach to inspections and documentation. Data Center experience. Construction Understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant codes and standards. Proficiency in using tools for measurement and inspection, such as calipers, micrometers, and testing equipment Safety Awareness: , Thorough understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Prefer a degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or sufficient experience.
Data Center Construction Project Manager
Location: Onsite in Boydton, VA (Similar openings in Conover, NC & Richmond, VA)
Duration: 18-24 month contract, potential to extend or convert to permanent
Day-to-Day: We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. This PM will run this office, manage projects from cradle to grave: estimates, run project to completion, handle procurement, and provide support post implementation. They will handle all aspects of managing a data center construction project and this will include providing leadership to contractors and vendors associated with the delivery of company’s projects. The candidate will have overall responsibility for the delivery of assigned projects on budget on time and assurance that the project scope and quality meet Company Design Standards and the objectives set for the project. The successful candidate will have to be exceptionally organized and be great with back-office work (change orders, budgets, process driven, etc.).
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years related experience
- Construction Management experience managing large scale capital projects.
- Data Center Construction Management experience working for a general contractor or hyperscale provider.
- MEP Experience
Compensation:
$40/hr to $80/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
