Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our Corporate Engineering team in Roanoke, VA. This position will be responsible for providing technical support and engineering assistance to all TA facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assets Maintenance
- Perform periodic inspection and auditing of all TA facilities to review condition and propose any additional inspections, necessary repairs and/or upgrades of existing structures
- Keep track of any regulatory changes and building codes for all locations of TA operations project related work
- Provide Structural Engineering support to the Project Management team during design and construction phases of new installations
- Provide input to Project Managers regarding budget and time schedule preparation of major projects
- Supervise site and soil survey works to assist in the proper design and engineering of foundations
- Assist during the permitting and site development phases
- Ensure code compliance of all new buildings and installations and work with Project Managers to issue all necessary building and occupancy permits
- Assist in preparation of all necessary scopes of work for all foundation, concrete, steel, and structural works of major projects. Participate in the evaluation process for the selection of the proper design and construction firms
- Provide supervision during major and critical phases of a project related to Structural Engineering works
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Structural Engineering is required
- 3-5 years’ experience in Structural Engineering positions preferably in heavy industrial installations
- Knowledge of Project Management and CAD packages will be considered a plus.
- Knowledge of structural design software packages will be considered a plus
- Professional license in any State will be considered a plus

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with sales leadership, finance, engineering, and operations to align pricing decisions with company objectives.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field required.

Experience
- 7–12 years of experience in pricing, commercial finance, sales operations, or strategic pricing.
- Experience in manufacturing, electrical equipment, power infrastructure, utilities, or industrial markets strongly preferred.

Virginia Transformer Corp is seeking a strategic and experienced Commodity Manager to lead sourcing and supplier management for conductive materials, including copper, copper alloys, and other critical electrical-grade raw materials. This role is responsible for vendor selection, contract negotiations, supply chain risk mitigation, and driving cost savings across multiple manufacturing sites.
You will serve as the internal subject matter expert on conductive commodity markets, proactively shaping procurement strategy and partnering with engineering, operations, and finance to ensure a secure, cost-effective, and compliant supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Selection & Management: Lead sourcing and qualification of suppliers for copper and conductive materials. Establish relationships with domestic and international vendors to support quality, capacity, and pricing needs.
- Contract Management: Negotiate and manage commodity contracts, including pricing structures, terms and conditions, volume commitments, and enforcement of supply agreements.
- Commodity Strategy: Develop and execute commodity strategies based on market trends, supply/demand forecasts, risk analysis, and internal demand planning.
- Cost Optimization: Drive productivity and cost-reduction initiatives by leveraging strategic sourcing, alternate materials, or supply chain efficiencies.
- Market Analysis & Forecasting: Monitor global copper and metal market trends (e.g., LME pricing, tariffs, logistics costs) and translate insights into procurement actions.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business.

- Strong understanding of copper markets and conductive material supply chains (e.g., rod, wire, bar stock, busbar).

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking skilled Make-Ready Designers (primary focus) and Power Distribution Designers to support engineering programs for major electric and telecom utilities. Ideal candidates bring demonstrated experience in overhead utility pole design, NESC application, clearance assessment, pole loading analysis, and construction package development. Useful design platforms include DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or client-specific drafting systems.
In this role, you will review field/walkout data, evaluate existing attachment conditions, model pole loading, determine make-ready requirements, and prepare accurate construction-ready deliverables. Applicants without utility pole design or distribution engineering experience will not be considered.
Note: This position is remote, but new hires must attend a 2-week paid, in-person orientation at our Perrysburg, OH headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
Field Service Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of field service engineers and technicians supporting transformer installations and service activities.

About the Role
We are seeking a Contract Execution Manager to serve as the customer-facing liaison for large, custom-engineered, power transformer manufacturing projects. This is not a construction or software PM role — it is a highly technical, contract-driven position responsible for ensuring the successful execution of engineered-to-order equipment, from design release through manufacturing, shipment, and onsite installation.
The position is onsite in Roanoke, VA and requires close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, contracts, and field service teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers after order placement, ensuring clear communication and contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Translate customer specifications and contract terms into actionable deliverables for engineering and manufacturing teams.

Metal Fabrication Manager

Position Overview
Virginia Transformer Corporation is seeking an experienced Metal Fabrication Manager to lead fabrication operations at our Troutville, Virginia Junction Box manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all metal fabrication activities including sheet metal processing, welding, forming, and assembly preparation for junction box components used in transformer systems.
The Metal Fabrication Manager will ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control. This leader will work closely with engineering, production planning, and quality teams to support Virginia Transformer’s continued growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication Operations Leadership
- Manage daily operations of the metal fabrication department, including sheet metal processing, cutting, forming, and welding.
- Lead and supervise fabrication teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production output.
- Ensure production schedules are executed effectively to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Monitor fabrication workflow and identify opportunities to improve productivity and throughput.
Process & Manufacturing Excellence
- Oversee fabrication processes including laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, grinding, and finishing.
- Partner with engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and optimized for fabrication processes.
- Implement best practices to improve cycle times, material utilization, and production efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the fabrication department.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure fabrication operations meet quality standards, specifications, and inspection requirements.
- Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or production issues.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and develop fabrication personnel.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including cutting, forming, welding, and finishing.
- Experience managing production schedules, capacity planning, and shop floor operations.

Regional Field Service Manager
Location: Roanoke, VA (Relocation Required)

Position Summary
The Regional Field Service Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and scaling field service operations across an assigned region, supporting installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, and aftermarket service of power and distribution transformers. This role ensures safe execution, technical excellence, customer satisfaction, and financial performance across all field activities.
This position is ideal for a proven field services leader with strong transformer expertise, customer-facing experience, and the ability to lead technicians in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Leadership
- Lead and manage regional field service technicians and supervisors supporting transformer service activities.
- Ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality execution of field work including installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, and emergency response.
- Set expectations, manage performance, and develop technical and leadership capability within the field organization.
- Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues, customer concerns, and field execution challenges.
Customer & Commercial Support
- Act as a primary regional contact for customers during field service and aftermarket engagements.
- Support customer meetings, outage planning, and service coordination.
- Partner with sales and aftermarket teams to support service opportunities, scope development, and execution planning.
- Drive customer satisfaction through responsiveness, communication, and execution excellence.
Safety, Compliance & Standards

Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with plant policies & procedures, safety, environmental, state, and federal process regulations. Proactively support and play a leadership role in the plant's safety program to continuously improve safety and health performance.
- Manage electrical and instrumentation departments to improve efficiency and ultimately reduce costs.
- Develop and implement capital investment opportunities promptly with provided resources to improve reliability of the power distribution and control systems.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 5-10 years minimum Electrical Engineering experience required. Power (high voltage) engineering in cement or heavy industries considered a plus.
- Strong managerial / supervisory background, minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Labor relations experience desirable. The manufacturing site is inclusive of represented team members.
