Day shift 3a-3p
The Waterloo Birth Center consists of labor & delivery, postpartum care, and a Level III NICU. We are a 23 bed unit, with 19 of those rooms being large LDRP that allow for families to stay in one room for the entire stay. We have a two room OR suites for patients needing a c-section. We are one of a very few integrated neonatal intensive care units in the nation. Our NICU infants remain in the LDRP room with the family. This allows for true family centered care and bonding while both recover after delivery. We are blessed with a team of providers that consist of OBGYN doctors and midwives. We have a below average primary c-section rate and a high VBAC success rate.
As a Level III NICU, we provide care to infants 28+ weeks gestation. We also have a NICU transport team that typically will help transport infants from smaller hospitals to our NICU when a higher level of care is needed.
As a NICU RN at MercyOne, you will provide specialized, evidence-based, and outcome-focused care to critically ill and premature newborns in a dynamic and supportive environment. Using advanced critical thinking and neonatal expertise, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care while supervising and coordinating the NICU nursing team.
You will collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and optimal outcomes for vulnerable newborns. By conducting thorough assessments, identifying patient needs, and developing goal-oriented care plans, you will support neonates through critical stages of growth and development. Your ability to monitor and respond to complex conditions, provide family education, and adjust care plans as needed will help ensure the best possible outcomes for every newborn in your care.
Education:
Associate degree required, BSN preferred. No prior experience required. Current Iowa RN license, BLS, Mandatory Reporter. NRP. ALCS

- Maintains documentation accuracy and completeness in EMR: assessments, vitals, symptoms, treatments, medications, education, charges, lab results, histories, and consults.
- Maintains and monitors supplies, equipment, medication stock, and office machines; follows maintenance and quality control protocols; reports malfunctions.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to urgent/emergency patient needs and initiates emergency procedures.
- Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior
Education:

Basic Duties
- Perform basic maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on customer owned construction and aerial work platform equipment.
- Establish and maintain service-oriented working relationship with customers

Qualifications

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
This position works the majority of time in the equipment shop. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75 lbs. At times you may be required to move/operate equipment to figure out what maintenance needs to be performed. The noise level in the shop environment is usually moderate to high. This position also spends a portion of time in an office environment. May, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Must be flexible to work Saturdays and overtime as needed. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Key Responsibilities (Outpatient Hem/Onc)
- Provide Hematology/Oncology consults and follow-up care in an outpatient clinic setting
- Oversee administration of antineoplastic therapies in the clinic/infusion setting
- Deliver and coordinate services including bone marrow biopsies, iron therapy, IVIG, phlebotomies, and related infusion treatments
- Collaborate closely with nursing and ancillary teams to ensure efficient, patient-centered care
- Support hospitalist teams with infrequent inpatient consult questions (primarily by phone)
- Participate in teaching opportunities as available

Position: Medical Assistant (MA) or LPN: Occupational Health
Location: Cedar Falls, IA
Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day shift, M-F
Supports the operation of the clinical practice by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. This position is responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, documentation, and basic clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant also coordinates patient flow, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Required:
· Must have successfully completed accredited Medical Assistant program.
· MA Certification/Registration preferred prior to hire and required within one year.
OR
· Must have successfully completed accredited LPN program.
· LPN License in the state of Iowa.
