Summary
The Psychology Department at Saint Xavier University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track open rank professor position in Psychology. The area of expertise is Social Psychology. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach undergraduate courses in our social domain area (e.g., Social Psychology, Cultural Psychology, Sex and Gender, Personality) as well as research courses (e.g., writing in psychology, statistics, research methods, research capstone), which serve as the core of our major.
The Psychology major is one of the most popular majors and minors in the university and Psychology courses serve various other majors and minors in addition to the general education social sciences requirement. The Psychology Department prides itself on offering a strong undergraduate curriculum, providing ample student-faculty research opportunities, and supporting career mentoring and preparation, and has earned a U.S. News and World Report ranking each of the past three years.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach 12 credit hours each semester in psychology courses in the social domain area and research core area
- Establish a program of research leading to peer-reviewed publications and presentations
- Mentor undergraduate students in student-faculty research
- Provide service to the program, college, and university
- Provide quality undergraduate career guidance and mentorship
Qualifications
- Doctorate (Ph.D.) in psychology or a closely related discipline (ABD applicants will be considered, contingent on a successful doctoral defense prior to August 1, 2026)
- Evidence of (or potential for) excellent teaching, including use of evidence-based best practices in teaching and learning
- Demonstrated research potential
- Interest in engaging undergraduate students in research
- Enthusiasm and cultural competencies to work effectively with a diverse student population

Summary
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invites applications for the Spring or Fall of '26. We're seeking a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month faculty position at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor. We seek applicants who wish to join a community of dedicated faculty and contribute to excellent academic and clinical teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, scholarship, student advising, student research supervision, and department, university, and community service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Expertise in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Qualifications
A doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders is preferred. ABD near completion or a closely related discipline would be considered.
Candidate must possess CCC-SLP, eligibility for Illinois state licensure, record of scholarly activity or promise of research productivity, and experience in clinical service delivery.
While all areas of expertise will be considered, ability to teach in the following areas is desired: motor speech, acquired language disorders, and cognitive communication disorders
Demonstrate scholarship potential and an interest in engaging students in research or translating research into practice.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Exercise autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of medical treatments.
The scope of practice includes daily management of patients in CVICU and telemetry floor, discharge planning, patient education, family education, staff education, and quality improvement projects.
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing patient care efforts in collaboration with medical and surgical physicians and other team members
Evaluates the health status, acute episodes of illness, and health care needs of individuals through emphasis on comprehensive history, physical exam, and psychosocial assessment and accurately presents and documents in medical record.
Designs and evaluates individualized treatment plan. Consults with other members of the health care team on emergent problems for rapid disposition/resolution.
Coordinates care for optimal continuity of care across the health care continuum.
Facilitates patient/family participation in health care by identifying learning needs and providing specialized education to enhance decision making.

Pay Range: $109,304 - $180,336 per year
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
