The Rapid Response Nurse is a crucial part of a dedicated Rapid Response Team that provides immediate clinical support within and outside the critical care setting. The Rapid Response Nurse (RRN) plays a critical role in providing immediate, specialized care to patients experiencing acute medical emergencies. This position is part of the Rapid Response Team that is responsible for responding rapidly to medical crises, stabilizing patients, and ensuring safe transitions to appropriate care levels within all areas of the hospital including outpatient services. • Interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias.
• Knowledge of diagnostic and invasive tests and their preparations.
• Knowledge and experience with administering of IV and PO drugs and their possible adverse reactions.
• Competent with patient evaluation, physical assessment, and interviewing techniques.
• Knowledge in the legal aspects of nursing.
• Successfully passing safety, cultural sensitivity, and blood pathogen classes.
• Knowledge and experience with conscious sedation medications and their reversal agents.

Required: 

• Graduated from an approved School of Nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in California.
• BCLS and ACLS certification.
• Evidence of continuing education and self-development
• Minimum of two (2) years ER or ICU experience in a Cardiovascular unit.
• Demonstrates teaching ability in a formal and/or informal setting.

• Certificate from ARRT
• Certificate from CRT within 30 days of hospital orientation.
• Fluoroscopy permit must be obtained within 60 days of hospital orientation.
• CPR/BLS – requirement through American Heart Association
• One (1) year work experience or two (2) years internship in a hospital setting
• Experience with PACS
• Experience with CR and DR Radiography. 

Preferred:

• Pervious acute care experience in a hospital environment
• Venipuncture Certification
• Bilingual in Spanish
