CAD/ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (FULL-TIME) – UTILITY COORDINATION
Job Summary:
Responsible for performing tasks as assigned by Managing Member or Project Manager.
Essential Responsibility:
· Research to gather records of utility facilities present within and adjacent to project area.
· Coordinating the location of buried utilities in the field by surface geophysical techniques or non- destructive exposure.
· Performing field investigations to identify overhead utility facilities, surface access points for buried facilities and transition points where utilities transition from overhead to underground.
· Review and modify as necessary utility topography CAD files received from project survey team to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Review project design as it develops to identify impacts to utility facilities.
· Responsible for creating CAD files representing utility relocation plans for inclusion in the project plan set.
· Field management of third party hydro-vacuum excavation operations to expose buried utilities.
· Development of detailed reports capturing information gathered during operations to expose buried utilities.
Basic Qualification:
3 years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
· 5 years experience in transportation design, transportation construction, or utilities
· Familiarity with MicroStation (or similar), Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam
· Experience with highway/roadway/bridge/sewer/utility design and construction projects preferred
General Work Conditions:
- Combination of Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may be performed in the field. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
