The ChristianaCare Nurse Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.

We know through empirical research, graduate nurses who go through a residency program have a higher success rate in practice. Therefore, we are committed to supporting all nurses with under a year of experience through a nurse residency program!

This exciting 12 month program integrates educational components with up to 18 weeks of preceptor-led clinical experiences on the medical, surgical and step-down units at the Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals. The Float Pool supports 40 nursing units that serve a wide variety of complex diagnoses. Nurses having completed the internship will have built a strong foundation for nursing practice in multiple fast-paced, challenging environments. Training will encompass ACLS, dysrhythmia training and step-down competencies. In return for the comprehensive orientation and training, an employment agreement will be required upon completion of the training program.

The Float Pool Nurse Residency program will have preceptor led clinical training through multiple units, and independent practice supplemented with professional development courses. Upon successful completion of the program you will float between our Wilmington and Christiana Hospitals on medical, surgical, step-down and transitional care units. This program is followed by continued residency meetings during months 8, 10, and 12 to further develop as professional nurses and integral members of our caregiver team.

Nurse residents are required to pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware prior to starting position. Upon hire, a commitment agreement to work at the ChristianaCare will be signed. The agreement requires completion of a two years with the requirement to remain on the unit of hire for a minimum of 15 months. Individuals unable to fill this commitment will be charged $10,000.

  • Less than 12 months of nursing experience by the start of the program

As an Inpatient Pharmacist you will:

  • Review and interpret provider orders and dispense medication

Requirements:


• BSN required; or commitment to obtaining within three years of date of hire


• Must have minimum 1-2 years stepdown

• Critical Care experience strongly preferred


• BLS required; ACLS preferred

Hours: This is a Day/Midnight rotating schedule of 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Weekend and Holiday schedule is per departmental & organizational practices.

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 20 hours per week on the Night Shift at our Christiana Hospital on the 5C Medical Teaching Unit. Weekend and Holidays - per the guidelines of the department.

5C Medical Teaching Care team consisting of the Medical nursing staff, Hospitalists and specialized consultants. We use your expertise in assessing a patient’s physical and emotional status, past health history, health practice, and both the patient’s and the family’s knowledge of their disease process and treatment. As a medical nurse you will be engaging in a true relationship based care model, building relationships with patients and families as well as with your peers, guided by our values of love and excellence.

We will plan and execute your nursing care to promote patient wellness and comfort being involved in all aspects of care, managing a team of 5 medical/surgical patients per shift and work within the multidisciplinary medical team to achieve realist healthcare goals and educational needs for an individual and their family. We closely monitor patients, manage emergencies and provide ongoing supportive care. After treatment and medical goal attainment, you will help to transition patients to the appropriate level of care.
