Electrical Engineering Manager

Our client is seeking a driven and technically strong Electrical Engineering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing electrical engineering team within a growing MEP engineering firm. This role blends people leadership with hands-on technical execution, overseeing team performance, design quality, client relationships, and overall project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers
- Manage workload, assign projects strategically, and ensure deadlines are consistently met
- Serve as technical lead overseeing lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, fire alarm, and security design
- Ensure code compliance, technical accuracy, and quality across all deliverables
- Oversee BIM/Revit coordination through all project phases (SD → CD)
- Support construction administration (site visits, shop drawing review, punch lists)
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
- Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, performance management, and department growth
- Keep projects aligned with scope, budget, and contractual commitments
Qualifications
- 10+ years of electrical design experience in a consulting environment
- 7+ years leading and coordinating engineering teams
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
- Strong commercial project background (aviation, healthcare, higher ed, hospitality, government preferred)
- Experience with design-build and design-bid-build delivery
- Advanced knowledge of electrical codes and regulatory requirements
- Revit MEP proficiency
- Strong client-facing presence and communication skills
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and manage performance
- Experience managing budgets and driving value engineering solutions
Compensation and Benefits
- $175,000–$185,000 depending on experience
- Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote)
