Reporting to the Production Director, this role is responsible for leading and advancing a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manufacturing operation. The EHS Manager will develop, implement, and oversee all safety, health, and environmental programs while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and applicableregulations.
- Manage environmental compliance programs, industrial hygiene initiatives, and EPA reporting.
- Lead the site’s emergency response team and safety programs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance on equipment design, fire prevention, hazardous materials handling, and safety standards.
- Drive a culture of safety through behavior-based safety training and engagement.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, and property damage; prepare required internal and regulatory reports; implement corrective actions; and manage workers' compensation claims.
- Maintain chemical inventory and hazardous materials documentation.
- Develop and conduct new-hire safety orientation and ongoing safety training programs.
- Lead and facilitate the plant safety committee.
- Interface with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Lead and maintain the plant’s Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015), ensuring continued certification.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, EHS, or related engineering field required.
- Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.
- Experience with EHS management systems and regulatory auditing.
- Experience maintaining ISO 14001 certification preferred.
- CSP and/or CHMM certification preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt highly desired.
- HAZWOPER training preferred.
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals.
- Experience in a multi-shift continuous operation environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design & project management for land development projects; Coordinate with clients, outside consultants, project team members, government/municipal officials, and permitting
- Prepare a complete set of construction documents for multiple project types in various jurisdictions with assistance from civil engineering staff (Zoning Issues, Stormwater Design, Subdivision and Commercial Site Layouts, Project Permitting, Project Schedules and Budgets, Preliminary Plats, SWPPP, Grading, Drainage, Water, and Sewer Systems)
- Lead and support civil design for land development projects, including stormwater, utility, and site layout
- Manage project schedules, budgets, documentation, and QA/QC processes
- Mentor junior engineers and designers while continuing to develop your leadership skills
- Support construction administration, prepare permitting packages, and troubleshoot field issues with practical solutions

Manage and coordinate all activities related to Facilities Environmental, Health, Safety and Training programs to ensure the facilities and company's objectives are met or exceeded.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Identify and interpret regulatory standards that impact operational exposures and business activities and guide needed plans to ensure compliance.
- Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive safety processes, training programs and management practices to eliminate all accidents in the workplace and meet all applicable safety rules and company policy. Responsibilities to include: OSHA, ergonomics, machine guarding, hazard communication, powered industrial vehicles, electrical safety, fire protection & emergency preparedness
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive environmental processes and management practices to meet all applicable environmental rules and company policy requirements. Responsibilities to include but not limited to: waste water discharge, solid waste disposal, hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal, air emissions, spill prevention control and countermeasures, storm water national pollutant discharge elimination system, and ozone depleting substances.
- Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices, developing practices and programs to correct or reduce their occurrence.
- Provides assistance to plant personnel to improve safety and health of all employees.
- Plans, implements and monitors the day-to-day operations for the Facility’s training schedule, including analyzing operating data and reports, monitoring adherence to standards to ensure business plan objectives are met or exceeded.
- Communicates with Division management and employees and provides relevant reports and analyses to ensure appropriate decision-making as it applies to safety and training. Completes special project assignments as needed.
- Ensures preparation and delivery of all relevant training and materials are compliant with all customer, governmental and Company directives and policies.
- Creates Job Specific Training Modules
- Investigates and reports on serious injuries to line or staff employees.
- Reviews and analyzes company accidents and historical claim experience to identify frequency or severity problems and loss trends. Conduct improvement projects based on findings to improve overall employee health and safety.
- Investigates and responds to employee safety concerns, unemployment claims, and workers compensation claims to provide high quality internal customer service.
- Periodically audits operational procedures and programs related to all aspects of the facility as training is developed and updated.
- Train and coach managers and supervisors on behavior based strategies, accident investigation, hazard identification, self-inspection and employee training.
- Manages assigned trainees, including training, development and validation of performance.
- Attends and coordinates department safety meetings.
- Establish a measuring device for safety performance throughout the facility by motivating individual accountability and reinforcing safety as a critical part of the corporate culture.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education & Experience
BS degree in Engineering, Life Science, Safety, or Risk Management from an accredited college or University.
Certification as a Certified Safety Professional and OSHA 30 Hour is a plus.
5 or more years of relevant work experience in manufacturing safety and human resources.

MHS is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home. Flex Houseparents play a vital role in creating a structured, family-like environment that fosters students’ academic, emotional, and social development so they can reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing daily supervision and mentorship
- Managing household routines and student schedules
- Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
- Driving students to activities, as well as planning and actively engaging in developmental and recreational activities with students
- Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
- Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
Upon hire, Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes and follow a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. On weekdays, houseparents have unscheduled time while students are in school. Flex Houseparents eventually transition into a Placed Houseparent role, where they live and work with the same group of students in their own student home.
