Middleware Engineer
Contract to hire
Hybrid (2-3 days onsite)– Newtown Square, PA
The candidate will be a team player in a technology organization responsible for Middleware Infrastructure environment. The organization consists of highly trained system engineers and administrators, whose responsibilities include sustaining, engineering and production support of our Middleware environments. At client, Middleware technologies include OpenShift, Kubernetes, containers, Kafka, Apigee, IBM ESB, IBM MQ, Java, Tomcat, Apache, IIS etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Middleware products/environments including new installations, upgrades, maintenance and tuning, monitoring and capacity planning.
- Provide system/technical expertise while managing application deployments and troubleshooting application and platform issues.
- Participate in 24x7 rotational On-Call production Middleware Infrastructure administration support for business-critical applications.
- Design, build and manage OpenShift clusters across Development, test and production environments.
- Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines leveraging Jenkins, Git or similar
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes/OpenShift resources, Pods,Services,Routes,operators,Helm Charts etc.)
- Review system logs on critical servers regularly and address system generated errors and warnings immediately to ensure minimum downtimes and disruption to users
- Expertise in reviewing, implementing and supporting Enterprise Security solutions including Web Service Security, SSL Mutual Authentication, SSL certificate management.
- Expertise in Various middleware technologies including Apache, application and web servers, Expertise in administering and architecture of IBM MQ environments, Kafka, Apigee including deployment, upgrades, configurations, setup, performance tuning.
- Regularly review security patches on all servers and install the latest security patches/service packs periodically.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science , Information Technology with equivalent experience.
- At least ten(10) years of experience of overall support of Middleware Technologies and Infrastructure.
- 5-7 + years’ experience in containerization and Orchestration (Kubernetes, docker Etc.)
- Experience with Kubernetes concepts (pods, deployments, namespaces, RBAC, networking)
- Assist in updating documented guidelines and procedures for the IT-Infrastructure unit and ensure that the documentation reflects any/all procedural changes.
- Perform system health checks of core infrastructure systems as needed.
- Integrate proactive monitoring, logging and alerting using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Extensive experience and skill in the use of scripting (bash, python, PowerShell) to report on systems and automate processes.
- Participate in planning, testing and implementation of disaster recovery plans at the Primary and Secondary Disaster Recovery site.
- Certifications are preferred (i.e. Redhat OpenShift/Kubernetes certification,)

Primary Responsibilities: Project sizes $5,000-$500,000
- Coordinate all aspects of projects with owners, managers and subcontractors
- Review plans and contract documents
- Review estimates
- Prepare work orders for invoicing

- Create material lists and coordinate on time deliveries
- Schedule manpower meetings

Requirements:

The Buyer/Planner coordinates activities involved with planning and procuring goods and services for multiple product lines. They are responsible for planning and purchasing items such as electromechanical assemblies, fabricated parts, and electronics. They understand different manufacturing processes and have a willingness to travel both domestically and internationally. Work closely with Engineering, Accounting, Scheduling, Receiving and Production personnel to ensure timely delivery of materials while following appropriate policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Issue requests for quotes (RFQ) and select the best source consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements. Negotiate and manage long-term pricing agreements on critical commodities.
- Complete purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying all transactions.
- Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement-related problems.
- Source new products to meet new product launch timelines.
- Authorize payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation.

We are looking for an experienced leader in experimentation methodology to join our core Applied ML team. The Applied AI and Machine Learning team handles large-scale data to support many business areas. We develop a cohesive navigation experience across channels and web pages. Our goal is to simplify and improve the shopping experience for everyday entrepreneurs worldwide, helping them quickly find what they need on our website.
In this leadership role, you will enhance the strategic direction of our experimentation methodology efforts. You will use simulations and reinforcement learning, ensuring consistency with business objectives, and supporting cross-functional teams in data-informed experimentation solutions. You will guide teams working at the intersection of large-scale foundation models, multi-agent systems, and RL-based optimization, encouraging a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

- Define and drive the strategic roadmap for AI driven experimentation methodology, aligning initiatives with organizational goals and business impact
- Supervise and mentor teams of scientists and engineers, providing technical guidance and career development
- Promote meticulous experimentation, including the development of simulation environments and robust evaluation frameworks using machine learning and RL
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate research outcomes into scalable, production-ready experimentation solutions

Your experience should include...
- 3+ years of professional experience managing and leading high-performing teams, including mentoring and coaching team member to achieve organizational goals
- 5+ years of professional experience in experimentation methodology, Reinforcement Learning, and software development
- 2 + years of professional with experimentation platforms, data pipelines, and analytical tools to guide methodological rigor
- A deep understanding of statistical principles, causal inference, and experimental design for large-scale digital products
- A track record of partnering effectively with experimentation platform teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to drive data-informed decision-making
- 5+ years of professional experience translating complex statistical concepts into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences
- The ability to define and implement a vision for experimentation best practices across diverse product areas
