The Precision Control Actuation System department is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join the Harness and Interconnect organization to support the development, build, and verification of harnessing systems. The PCAS organization staffs engineers for a variety of roles supporting primarily tactical missile Integrated Product Teams. 

What You Will Do

  • At this grade level, you will be expected to work autonomously, have expert or mastery level knowledge of the harness and interconnect domain, exercise strategic vision to influence functional and organizational strategies of the PCAS organization beyond assigned program work, and coach and review the work of other professionals.​

  • Support may include but is not limited to detailed mechanical design, test design and execution, systems engineering, proposals and estimates, or earned value management. 

  • You will be expected to flex responsibilities based on the current needs of the organization and their respective skill sets.​

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience

  • Experience designing and/or modifying Harness and/or Interconnect device​s

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with engineering of complex systems of devices and interconnects. ​

  • Experience with development of harnessing requirements, system architecture, requirements risk, requirements verification and validation, system performance & function, safety and environmental compliance​

  • Experience working with a wide variety of industry / military standards and specifications​

  • Experience generating first order electrical analysis including, but not limited to, DC resistance and voltage drop​

  • Experience deriving applicable technical requirements from higher level specifications​

  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5​

  • Proven ability to deconstruct higher level tasks into discrete lower-level work packages and tasks​

  • Proven ability to take ownership of complex harnessing systems and coordinating completion of technical data packages with peers​

  • Experience developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product lifecycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test​

  • Developing subject matter expertise round wire, rf, and/or rigid-flex harnesses

  • Experience with harness design with mixed signals including knowledge of differential signals and shielding for EMI/RFI and crosstalk concerns. 

  • Moderate 3D modeling skills with a prominent commercial software package​

  • Experience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation​

  • Experience with Creo Schematic, Mentor Capital, or other electrical system documentation software​

  • Experience with flex and rigid flex design including familiarity with ECAD software, PCB design, signal integrity, copper weight calculations, adhesives, dielectrics, coverlays, stiffeners and thermal management. The ability to problem-solve tight space and dynamic movement constraints is a bonus.

  • Proven design and manufacturing knowledge in machined parts, injection molded parts, wire harnesses/flex harnesses and related components​

Telemetry Med-Surg – 2600

2600 is a stroke certified, telemetry medical surgical unit. This is a 27 bed unit that cares for cardiac patients on telemetry monitoring. Diagnoses on this unit are primarily cardiac in nature, but the unit also cares for patients with a diverse variety of general medical illnesses. Because of this, our nurses develop a strong set of skills and knowledge that they can use to grow their career throughout the acute care environment.

We are piloting a virtual nursing program on this unit, stationing one nurse in a virtual nursing hub during the hours of 0700-1900, while leaving six nurses physically on the unit to provide direct care to patients. The virtual nurse supports the bedside nurse in providing quality care to our patients, and is part of a virtual care model that includes pharmacy and social work. Prior to training and serving in the virtual nurse role, we require 6 months of experience working on the unit.

CLINICAL LADDER LEVEL I-IV

The RN level will be determined at the time of hire based on the candidate’s qualifications and ability to meet Clinical Ladder requirements.

Level expectations include:

- RN Level II: Minimum 6 months RN experience; AAS in Nursing; completion of Clinical Ladder requirements within 12 months, including 3 activities per pillar (Leadership, Quality, Organizational Contribution), 9 CEUs, and 6 flex items.
