- NYC We are seeking an HVAC Controls Engineer/Project Manager.
Responsibilities include BAS Systems Integration, optimization, and full system replacements, covering project financials, administration, implementation, management, and customer satisfaction within Commercial HVAC Controls/Building Automation.
You will lead the project team, act as the contact for all stakeholders, and handle multi-building or complex controls projects.
Additionally, you will mentor team members and serve as an HVAC controls expert for the business.
Bachelor’s degree in EE, ME, CE, Math or Physics.
Niagara / BACnet experience REQUIRED Strong interest in building automation and controls required.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in the HVAC/controls industry DDC controller programming, third party device integration with BACnet and Modbus preferred.
Experience with mechanical system operation.

Responsibilities
This role as Senior Mechanical Engineer will be focused on a mix of project types, everything from critical environment healthcare designs to energy performance work and large public infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and responding to the needs of multiple clients and projects simultaneously. Additional responsibilities will include:
- Lead the project team in the design and development of HVAC and MEP systems for commercial and institutional projects. Projects can include healthcare work such as operating rooms, CSS, pharmacies, in-patient hospitals, And outpatient facilities. Projects could also be Public Works, with clients such as DASNY, CUNY, NYS OGS, and NYCHA.
- Lead a team to conduct site surveys and assessments to gather data for system design and retrofitting.
- Collaborate with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines to integrate HVAC and MEP systems seamlessly into building designs.
- Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation tools to create accurate designs and calculations.

- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Develop project design budgets and schedules.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancement, and best practices in HVAC design and engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master's Degree a plus
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required
- Min 12 years of industry experience
- Proven track record of managing and designing multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines

Product & Industry knowledge in Switchgear products (must have): Medium and High Voltage Gear preferred.

- 10+ years of Switchgear Sales Engineering or related Gear experience within a Switchgear Manufacturer/Distributor! Highly desired: experience working with ABB, Siemens, Eaton, Schneider Electric (Square D), among other major switchgear & power distribution manufacturers.
Experience working with commercial and industrial electrical projects (residential okay too, but less desired).
Project sizes: $1M-$10M+ per project Fluency with Office Productivity Software, most notably MS Excel, MS Word & Adobe.
Bonus experience (desired, not required): Experience with Compas or Empower Bidding / management systems.
Experience with Siemens IndustryMall | I-Mall (for breakers) Prior experience with Transformer manufacturers, i.e.
HPS, MGM, Acme, etc.
Deep knowledge of Metering and EUSERC
- specifically the PG&E Greenbook Manual.
Familiarity with metering lines such as Milbank & B-line.
