Summary: Perform duties required to assist in repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment and perform various building and grounds maintenance activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:

• Work from work orders and verbal and written instructions.
• Assist in repairing and maintaining equipment.
• Lubricate equipment and complete other preventive maintenance checks
• Perform plumbing, lighting, and other work such as repairing sinks, replacing receptacles, and painting walls.
• Perform grounds maintenance, keeping outside facilities and structures in proper condition.
• Use forklift equipment and floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner.
• Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations, and unusual conditions to supervision.
• Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations.
• Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
• Use oscilloscope, calipers, feeler gauges, inside and outside micrometers, rules, squares, dial indicators, voltage tester, continuity tester, tape measure, various hand tools, jacks, rollers, pry bars, chain pull, level, concrete saw, jack hammer, cutting torch, welder, and rotary hammer.
• Ability to troubleshoot and/or program PLCs (i.e. Siemens, Allen Bradley, ABB, Fanuc).

A manufacturing company is seeking Mechanical Assemblers for full-time positions.  Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Duties:

• Assemble mechanical components and systems using hand and power tools
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Perform quality checks on completed assemblies to ensure they met specifications
• Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations

• Perform delicate weld operations on very expensive components and assemblies and other difficult details. May necessitate the adaptation of available fixtures.
• Work from specific approved procedures and complex blueprints. Work in close cooperation with weld engineer, weld inspector, and other authorized personnel.
• Reads and strictly complies with weld blueprints, weld procedures, and work instructions.
• Grinding to remove slag inclusions, excessive weld, burrs, or other pre-post steps required to make an acceptable weld.
• Must become certified to all requirements of BWXT contracts pertaining to welding and/or brazing, imposed on BWXT both now and in the future.
• Inspect all work using appropriate measurement instruments.
• Refers all issues/problems to supervisor for disposition.
• Completes and maintains all documentation as directed by work instructions and policies.
• Cleans machine, tooling, and parts.
• Performs machine maintenance, housekeeping, and other duties as assigned by supervision.
• Follows and complies with all operation instructions, work rules, and safety policies.

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in manual and automatic gas tungsten arc and/or shield arc welding, completion of an accredited training program will be considered.
• Brazing and soldiering skills, preferred.
• If necessary, be able to demonstrate ability to perform above skills on a test piece.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, procedures, and work instructions.
• Possess skills necessary to maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all applicable written and operation examinations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all applicable certifications.
• Possess necessary personal tools.
