A Day in the Life of the Team Lead Staff Software Engineer

In this role, you’ll help shape the future of our client’s cloud-based dental platform, including their flagship product. You’ll work closely with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams to design and build secure, scalable features while mentoring other developers. This position blends deep technical contribution with early leadership responsibilities, offering a clear path toward technical or people management roles.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead the technical design and development of new and existing finance-related features within the Dentrix Ascend platform
• Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable Java code using Spring Boot while following Test-Driven Development (TDD) and clean architecture principles
• Apply advanced object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, and refactoring techniques to maintain high-quality codebases
• Contribute to overall system architecture with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance under heavy usage
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure platform stability and reliability
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices and continuous learning
• Partner with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and code reviews
• Stay current with Java and related technologies, recommending modern tools and practices that improve product quality and team productivity

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience building backend software with Java and Spring Boot, including enterprise-level application development
• Prior experience designing or working with microservices and modern software architecture patterns
• Previous experience supporting the team and guiding technical decisions as a team lead or technical lead
• Experience working with large language models (LLMs) or AI tools for generating, interpreting, or improving codebases
• Prior experience mentoring engineers or provided technical leadership while maintaining strong communication across the team

Plant Manager | Polymer Extrusion Facility

We are seeking a technically savvy Plant Manager to lead our polymer extrusion operations. If you’re the kind of leader who knows that a plant runs on both high-performance machinery and high-performing people, we want to talk to you.

• Drive Production Excellence: Manage the daily operations of multiple extrusion lines to meet (and exceed) production targets while maintaining strict quality standards.
• Optimize Technical Processes: Oversee material blending, die setups, and cooling parameters. You should be comfortable "talking shop" regarding polymer rheology and mechanical troubleshooting.

• 2+ years supporting production equipment and processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on wrench-turner: experience rebuilding gearboxes, aligned conveyors, and programmed basic PLC logic. Looking for a mix of hands on and theoretical experience.
• Mastery of structured problem-solving (5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto, FMEA).
• Fluent in SolidWorks for fixture design and layout; ERP/MES experience (Nav or SAP, Plex, Epicor, etc.).
• Proven ability to lead operators and techs through change via documentation, training, without hand-holding.

Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated experience with proposals for DOT transportation, public owners, and other infrastructure clients (such as state agencies and water or utility districts); experience with alternative delivery (design-build, CMGC, CMAR) strongly preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate technical input into clear, persuasive proposal content.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); experience with other Adobe Creative Cloud applications and CRM systems is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, set priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

This position is within the Effectors Center of the Software organization, and is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ. 

What You Will Do 

• Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.

• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.

• Participate in internal review of software components and systems.

• Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.

• Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.

• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.

• Ability to obtain program access required.

Qualifications You Must Have 

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of two years prior relevant experience.

• Experience with C, C++, or Java.

• Experience with the integration of real-time software, firmware, and hardware.

• Ability to obtain Interim Secret Level U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer  

• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems and architectures.

• Knowledge of assembly, C/C++ programming, structured programming concepts.

• Knowledge of object-oriented design and Unified Model Language.

• Knowledge of statistical and numerical methods.

• Interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and leaders in a team environment.

  The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
