Position Responsibilities:

• Resolve airplane level requirements into system level requirements and resolve system level requirements into component requirements with time and cost efficient validation methods.

• Develop and evaluate system and subsystem architecture alternatives to meet project objectives and requirements.

• Conduct trade studies to analyze and compare alternatives, rapidly converging on preferred configurations through system simulations and development test programs.

• Lead and participate in system, component, and detailed design efforts, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to schedule and cost constraints to produce error-free, manufacturable specifications and drawings.

• Lead and support system- and component-level validation activities, including test plan development, consultation on iron bird and test rig setups, test monitoring, analysis, report authoring, supplier test report review and approval, failure analysis, and mitigation strategies.

• Drive certification efforts by creating required artifacts such as system safety analyses, failure modes and effects analyses (FMEA), and fault tree analyses (FTA); ensure traceability to regulatory requirements and resolve any regulatory conflicts.

• Support ongoing production by promptly addressing build issues at Boeing and supplier facilities, identifying and implementing design improvements to enhance build accuracy, production rate, and line safety, and resolving rejections, functional test failures, and flight squawks.

• Provide subject matter expertise to support global fleet operations, responding to airline and regulator inquiries, leading resolution of Service Related Problems (SRPs), and analyzing flight incidents to inform Safety Review Board (SRB) recommendations for the Continued Operational Safety Program (COSP).

• Collaborate effectively across functions and organizations within and outside Boeing, including manufacturing, avionics, crew operations, airplane safety, aerodynamics, supply chain management, BCA systems software, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

• 1+ years of technical experience in an aerospace or similar regulated industry environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Knowledge/Experience with ARP 4754 and ARP 4761.

The Safety, Security & Airworthiness organization is seeking to fill a Senior Manager position within the Enterprise Regulatory Administration team. This position is responsible for teams associated with the administration, oversight, and support of the FAA appointed Boeing Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Unit, including Engineering Unit Members, Inspection Unit Members, and Project Administrators who perform functions on behalf of the FAA. This includes overseeing the appointment, training, and annual assessment of the ODA Unit Members. The Boeing Chief Aerospace Safety Office (CASO) team are seeking a Mid-Level (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Safety & Airworthiness Specialist to join its Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness Compliance team within Boeing ODA (Organization Designation Authorization) in Everett, Washington.

This is a unique career opportunity that will support the management and execution of the ODA Unit Member Interference processes, ensuring strict adherence to the requirements of the Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act of 2020. This includes early dispute resolution, interference allegation investigations, coordination with Corporate Investigations and Legal, and ensuring compliance with FAA requirements related to interference prevention and resolution. The candidate will apply detailed knowledge of Boeing’s ODA procedures, FAA regulations, and the Act’s mandates to support root cause analyses and corrective action plans related to interference and certification safety issues

In Addition, this role will work closely with a dynamic team of project managers, internal Boeing organizations, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The successful candidate will lead a variety of compliance-related projects, primarily conducting and managing Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and applying problem-solving models on issues identified by the FAA or internally.

This Individual Contributor role requires the use of various project management tools and software to facilitate and conduct investigations related to Airworthiness Non-Compliances and ODA unit member interference. The candidate will conduct research to determine noncompliance with the ODA Procedures Manual, Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), and the Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act of 2020. They will provide oversight and guidance to resolve medium to complex certification/compliance technical issues, clarify procedures related to FAA-issued Letters of Investigation, compliance actions, voluntary disclosures, and Part 25 Airworthiness Non-Compliances.

The role involves close coordination with internal stakeholders and the FAA, organizing and conducting meetings to resolve outstanding issues, and cross-functional collaboration between Engineering teams, Regulatory Administration, Safety, Quality, and other organizations. The candidate will ensure regulatory project milestones are met and will create and review documents for internal and external stakeholders, including the FAA. Close monitoring and tracking of assigned action items is expected to support company performance goals.

Primary responsibilities:

• Manage and execute the ODA Unit Member Interference processes in accordance with Boeing Procedures Manual, FAA regulations, and the Act’s requirements, including early dispute resolution and interference allegation investigations.
• Coordinate with Corporate Investigations, Legal, ODA administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant resolution of interference and certification safety issues.
• Prepare and submit required reports and correspondence to the FAA within regulatory timelines, including initial and final interference reports, ensuring alignment with the Act’s transparency and accountability provisions.
• Facilitate root cause analyses (RCA) and development of corrective action plans (CAP) for substantiated interference and compliance issues, supporting a culture of safety and accountability.
• Utilize project management tools to track and report on interference, compliance, and certification safety metrics.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, supporting whistleblower protections and ethical reporting.

Boeing is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Certification Engineer to lead regulatory and airworthiness compliance activities for the Systems Integration team on the 777-9 program.
