Position Responsibilities:

  • Overall subject matter expert and technical lead engineer for the Mission and Safety Computers hardware for requirements development, avionics subsystem and system design, integration, subsystem/system/flight test, system verification, production/fielding, and supplier oversight
  • Lead the hardware supplier design team in supporting all Tactical Fighters program needs
  • Develop interface control documents describing mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces
  • Perform technical problem investigation and resolution at subsystem, system, and platform integration levels
  • Perform weapon capability development, implementation, and integration onto a fighter’s platform
  • Out brief status to internal Boeing stakeholders/leadership and external customers
  • Support subsystem testing on the Mission Systems Hardware
  • Support system testing in ESIL and during Flight Test
  • Support Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis efforts for the Mission Systems Hardware
  • Support airworthiness efforts for hardware design, development and implementation

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Level 4: 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 7+ years of work-related experience with a Masters OR 3+ years of work-related experience with a PhD
  • Knowledge of Military Standards/Handbook implementations – MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, etc.
  • Experience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, functional diagrams
  • Tactical Fighters platform knowledge, including subsystem and platform integration
  • Experience mentoring, coaching and leading technical projects and teams

  • Knowledge of Core Processing, Image/Display/Video Processing, Built-In Test Requirements, and Safety Computing

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a LeadMission SystemFlying Test Bed (FTB) Engineer in Berkeley, MO, supporting an Air Dominance Fixed Wing Proprietary Program. You will be joining a fast-paced program where you will be responsible for integrating and testing advanced tactical sensors onboard three flying test beds. Your work will include developing and planning tests, coordinating FTB modifications, and executing flight tests.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of test plans to support key flight test risk reduction activities
