The role of an R&D Senior Scientist – Taste Coffee is based in KERRY Global Technology & Innovation Centre in Beloit, Wisconsin, USA and reporting to the RD&A Director. The candidate must be prepared to support scale up process, process optimization and different activities at different sites/facilities occasionally.

The successful candidate should demonstrate with moderate “hands on” experience working with roasting, extraction and coffee drying technologies (development, upscaling, downscaling).

She/He should have preliminary experiences and demonstrate technical leadership capabilities in the field of Food Science with Sensory, Analytical, and Processing knowledge.

The successful candidate will be leading strategic projects in close collaboration with other Kerry staff from different End Use Markets.

The successful candidate will support the development of Kerry's portfolio of Coffee Extracts.

This is a Permanent role.

Key responsibilities

• To lead and/or participate in Commercial Coffee projects.
• To lead and/or participate in scale up, process optimization and innovation projects for coffee.
• To collaborate with Applications, Sales and Marketing team in customer presentations.
• To support ideation and implementation of PIP projects.
• Set clear priorities, goals and objectives for multi-disciplinary cross-functional project teams that create a competitive advantage for the business.
• Partner with Innovation, Beverage EUM and Business Development to ensure R&D objectives are aligned with business requirements and evolving market conditions
• Ensure technical reports, standard operating procedure (SOP's) and scientific presentations are accurate and kept up to date
• Contribute to training team members on roasting, extraction that can add value to Kerry's coffee team.

Qualifications and skills

• Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry
• 5+ years’ experience of hands-on coffee Research and Development.
• Experience at pilot scale or in production environment is a plus
• Demonstrate an ability for multi-tasking, in planning and time management
• proficient, expert in extraction technology.
• Competence in writing technical documents such as research reports, SOPs, etc. Proficiency with Excel or other data processing/visualization software is desirable
• Experience working in collaborative and multi-cultural / international environments in a plus.

The pay range for this position is $75,602 - $123,432 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Your New Role:

The Production Manager is responsible for directing, coordinating, and optimizing daily manufacturing operations through the leadership of Production Supervisors. This role serves as the primary liaison between the VP of Manufacturing and the Production Supervisors, ensuring that strategic goals, production plans, and performance expectations are effectively communicated, executed, and sustained on the production floor. The Production Manager translates high-level manufacturing strategy into actionable plans while elevating operational performance, safety, quality, and employee engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct leadership, coaching, and accountability for Production Supervisors to ensure consistent execution of production plans.
• Act as the communication bridge between the VP of Manufacturing and Production Supervisors, cascading priorities, initiatives, and expectations while elevating operational feedback and challenges.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production schedules to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, efficiency, scrap, downtime, labor utilization, and safety; drive corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with the VP of Manufacturing on capacity planning, staffing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve production issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Lead problem-solving activities using lean manufacturing and root cause analysis tools.
• Support talent development by identifying training needs, mentoring supervisors, and assisting with performance management.
• Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture across all shifts.
• Responsible for understanding the food safety hazards of their job and following the employee GMPs and other procedures to ensure food safety
• Other duties as assigned.

Your hours:

Monday-Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm - must have flexibility to provide support to a 24/7 facility.

What you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including direct supervision of supervisors.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and performance metrics.
• Proven ability to lead through others and align floor-level execution with organizational strategy.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) preferred.

The Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership across sales support, order management, customer service, forecasting, and cross-functional execution. The Director will lead a team of Technical Sales Engineers and Customer Service Representatives while partnering with Regional Sales Managers, Finance, and Manufacturing teams to optimize processes, profitability, and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Strategic Leadership
