About the Role

A large, established structural steel fabricator is seeking a Production Manager to lead third shift operations within a heavy steel fabrication facility.

The company specializes in complex structural and bridge components and operates at significant production volume annually. This is a key leadership hire focused on driving safety, throughput, accountability, and continuous improvement across multiple fabrication areas.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned departments, managing workflow, labor, and team performance
• Maintain housekeeping, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with Production Scheduler to meet production goals and address gaps
• Ensure teams follow fabrication plans and optimize work efficiency
• Plan work effectively to meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule targets
• Coach, train, and develop department leads and team members
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management

Requirements

• 5+ years production or operations leadership in fabrication or manufacturing
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field, preferred
• Heavy steel or structural fabrication experience strongly preferred

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing / continuous improvement
• Comfortable managing off-shift operations
