Role Overview:
- The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial construction projects. This role is essential in supporting project bids, ensuring profitability, and maintaining the company’s reputation for precision and reliability. At UPI, the focus will be on industrial construction piping systems & process building piping. At UFP, the focus will be on industrial and commercial fire protection installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications for industrial piping, water, refrigeration, OR fire protection systems to determine project scope and requirements.
- Calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs specific to industrial construction, mechanical systems, or fire protection systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to clarify project details and resolve technical discrepancies.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for clients, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Maintain and update a database of historical cost data for specialized systems (e.g., piping, fire protection).
- Participate in site visits to assess project conditions and gather data for accurate estimation.
- Monitor ongoing projects to compare actual costs with estimates and adjust future estimates accordingly.
- Support the procurement team in sourcing specialized materials and equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- For UPF, proven experience in fire protection systems blueprint reading, design & estimation.

Universal Fire Protection (UFP)
- Proven experience in blueprint reading, design, and cost estimation for n fire suppression and alarm systems.
- Expertise in creating fire protection layouts using CAD software.

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead our cold storage
direct-to-consumer (DTC) fulfillment facility. This role is fully responsible for the
performance of the building, including operations, financial management, team leadership,
service levels, and compliance. The General Manager will own the facility’s P&L, control
operating expenses, manage labor efficiency, and ensure operational excellence while
maintaining the highest standards of safety, food handling, and cold chain integrity. This
is a leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced warehouse environments and
understands the complexities of temperature-controlled fulfillment operations.
Specific responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee all day-to-day warehouse and fulfillment operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely DTC order processing, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Maintain cold chain integrity and ensure compliance with food safety and

- Monitor KPIs including productivity, accuracy, on-time shipping, shrinkage, and
- service levels.
Financial & P&L Management
- Own and manage the full P&L of the facility.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget.
- Control operating expenses, including labor, utilities, supplies, and maintenance.
- Analyze financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Review labor costs weekly and actively manage overtime to maintain budget targets.
- Use strong Excel skills to track, forecast, and report on financial and operational metrics.
Labor & Workforce Management
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse managers, supervisors, and frontline teams.
- Ensure proper staffing levels based on volume forecasts.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and overtime.
- Drive accountability and performance management across the facility.
- Promote a culture of ownership, safety, and operational excellence.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, food safety regulations, and cold storage
- standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety protocols.
- Oversee facility audits and regulatory inspections.
What You Bring:
- 7+ years of warehouse or fulfillment experience.
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing a full facility or large operation.
- Experience in cold storage, food distribution, or temperature-controlled environments is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing P&L and operational budgets.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience managing labor planning and controlling overtime.
- Strong understanding of warehouse KPIs and cost control.
- Experience in DTC fulfillment operations preferred.

Essential Job Functions: Identify, engineer, implement, and verify new designs and configuration of system integration Benches, test racks, cables and harnesses, etc.

Ensure that the system integration benches are fully functional and accurately reflect the most current configurations so as to provide an architecture on which the latest versions of system software may be tested to ensure proper functionality and interoperability of the components of the system.
Troubleshoot any errors or faults that are preventing the system integration benches from functioning properly and develop solutions to resolve the faults.
Interface with other Army and DoD program offices in order to properly understand how the various C5ISR systems interoperate with each other and with the vehicle platform.
Exercise an availability and a customer service mentality to provide assistance to system testers so that they may execute their testing effectively and efficiently.
Provide electrical, mechanical and software support to Combat Vehicle system bench planning, design, development, and execution.
Work in a team environment with our Army customer and DCS Engineers.
Work with other DCS employees to identify and purchase and/or build any materials or components required for the lab.
Maintain configuration management of the lab, including by updating drawings as required to reflect the lab configuration.
Perform mechanical assembly as required.
Coordinate with government personnel to plan, coordinate and execute system bench activities.
Maintain current system bench configurations and assets.
Develop a deep, working familiarity with a variety of C5ISR and combat vehicle subsystems.
Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S.
Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required, along with at least 8 years of experience (since earning BS degree) in a technical/engineering role.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN bus, Ethernet, Serial, RS-10, RS-232, etc.).
