Senior EPC Contract Specialist (Electric Utilities)

Location: El Paso, TX (Hybrid – Onsite Required Initially)

About the Role

Insight Global is seeking a Senior EPC Contract Specialist to support large‑scale electric utility infrastructure projects. This role is critical to ensuring contracts are structured to mitigate risk, control costs, and support successful execution of high‑value capital projects.

You will play a key role in drafting, negotiating, and managing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) service contracts tied to substation and transmission projects—often valued at $10M+. This is a hands‑on role requiring deep experience in the electric utility industry, strong contract negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, legal, supply chain, and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate EPC and professional services contracts for electric utility infrastructure projects
• Develop and standardize contract templates for repeatable use across projects and business units
• Ensure contracts include strong risk mitigation language related to:
• Scope clarity
• Change orders
• Payment terms
• Liability and performance protections
• Partner closely with:
• Project Management
• Construction Management

• Support contract execution through the full lifecycle, including change management

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in contract development and negotiation within the electric utility industry
• Proven experience writing and managing high‑dollar EPC contracts ($10M+)
• Strong understanding of utility‑specific codes, regulations, and industry standards
• Experience supporting large infrastructure projects such as:
• Substations
• Transmission lines
• Utility EPC builds
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in contract negotiation, legal support, or risk management
• Experience working directly with engineering and construction execution teams
• Familiarity with change order negotiation and dispute mitigation
• Ability to read and interpret project schedules (e.g., Microsoft Project)
• Experience supporting regulated utility environments

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

• Ensure proper integration with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), when applicable.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, electrical schematics, panel layouts, validation protocols, and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related technical degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
• 20-25 years of relevant experience, with progressive responsibility and technical knowledge both scope and value of project.
• Technical knowledge and experience of relevant construction methods and systems including:
• Utility relocates and slope stability works.
• Full understanding of multiple mission critical platforms.
• Full understanding and working knowledge of high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage systems. General understanding of BMS and EPMS Systems.
• Full understanding and coordination of Utility relocations, underground medium voltage systems, and BIM modeling coordination of ALL utilities both above and below ground.
• Full understanding and managing of all LOTO procedure's and FOD inspections for all systems.

The Site Safety Manager will provide support to the Project Staff and the Clayco safety team in an effort to execute corporate safety and health standards and procedures in compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements. • Conduct regular daily and weekly jobsite inspections and complete the safety checklist noting safety violations and corrective actions.
• Record, notify and prepare written report of any violations or unsafe practices to subcontractors for immediate correction actions.

• Assist the Project Superintendent in establishing and implementing proper fire prevention, evacuation, and fire control procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent.
• 6-12 years of safety experience or combination of education and years of experience in building construction, with a working knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques.
• 10+ years of field experience minimum.
• OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation.
• OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer is a plus.
• Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Title: Senior Scheduler

OVERVIEW

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Scheduler in El Paso, TX to support a large critical infrastructure construction project in the area. This project is projected to go on for an additional five to six years and provide ample growth opportunity for those joining the team early on! The Senior Scheduler will be responsible for developing, managing, and reporting the day-to-day changes and updates to the master schedule. They will be in charge of all communication regarding the project schedule between internal stakeholders as well as the end client.

The Senior Site Safety Supervisor will provide support to the Project Staff and the Clayco safety team in an effort to execute corporate safety and health standards and procedures in compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements. This will include, but is not limited to, assisting in development of a zero injury safety culture on each project, conducting at least weekly documented jobsite safety inspections, effectively communicate orientations for all new project workers, assist with and review subcontractor daily pre-task safety analysis, actively promote and participate in daily stretch and flex program, identify project trends and execute proactive safety initiatives to eliminate incidents, support corporate goals and initiatives, emphasize and support proactive safety such as near miss/hazard reporting, coach and recognize workers on safe work methods, report all incidents in an effective and timely manner following established protocols and be a champion in motivating workers to perform their jobs safely! Your responsibilities will be all encompassing for each project you will be dedicated to.

• Assist in development of the project safety program.
• Establish and conduct jobsite orientation for new project employees. Administer and record their participation in the orientation program and issue identification to those employees completing the orientation program.
