The Opportunity

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-earning assistant professor or tenured associate professor with an expected start date of December 23, 2026.

We seek visionary scholars in the area of RF and Microwave Circuits and Systems. This position presents an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidate to lead innovation in high-frequency electronics-ranging from 5G/6G communications and IoT to specialized RF systems for spaceborne and extreme-environment applications.

The successful candidate will leverage UCF's proximity to the aerospace and defense industries to bridge the gap between academic research and the burgeoning commercial space industry. Given the scale of our programs, this is a unique opportunity to shape the future workforce by training and mentoring the next generation of engineers through our comprehensive undergraduate and graduate programs.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated a strong record of scholarly excellence, as evidenced by impactful publications and innovative contributions, and who show clear potential to build and sustain a robust, externally funded research program. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to high-quality teaching at all levels and to collaborate across disciplines to strengthen UCF's global leadership in electromagnetics and circuit design.

Appointment rank will be commensurate with experience and academic achievements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering, or other closely related disciplines at the time of appointment. Applicants must have a strong research track record supported by quality publications.

To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor.

Preferred Qualifications:

Past work experience in academia with strong funding record is desirable. A demonstrated record of teaching/training experience is of interest.

This person will be responsible for working with the project team to develop accurate and complete modeling drawing sets. The BIM Technician will ensure the integrity of project drawings while maintaining privileged information per the customer and company requirements.



What you'll do:




  • Accurately identify product specifications and understand of detail assemblies and their application for installation.
  • Create or revise/update construction drawings, maintaining a tracking log of drawings.

Within 6 months, you'll:

The Opportunity

The University of Central Florida, College of Medicine (UCF COM) is seeking exceptional candidates for two full-time faculty positions within the Department of Medicine's Aerospace Medicine program at the assistant, associate or professor of medicine rank. These positions are available in either the tenure or non-tenure track. Candidates will contribute to the academic missions of education, research, and clinical services.

The successful candidates will engage in teaching activities across undergraduate and graduate programs, including the development of new courses, and collaboration with interdisciplinary faculty.   • Another aim is collaborative research and technology development with our faculty colleagues in the College of Optics and Photonics (e.g., for laser devices) and the College of Engineering and Computer Science, among the 12 other colleges.


  • Support the development of a new Aerospace and Extreme Environments Medical Systems Integration and Rapid Prototyping Laboratory.


  • Design, develop, and conduct experiments in the domain of aerospace medicine and extreme medicine, facilitated by the use of the Aerospace and Extreme Environments Medical Systems Integration and Rapid Prototyping Laboratory and other UCF resources such as a newly established biobank for aerospace medicine and extreme environments.


  • Support the development and operation of undergraduate and graduate training programs in aerospace medicine and extreme environments.


  • Provide high-quality teaching in undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including course design, classroom instruction, and mentoring students in aerospace medicine topics.


  • Support the development of new commercial services for space biomedical research with government, industry, and academia.

As a part of this broad, university-wide strategic plan, the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applicants for multiple 9-month, full-time faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-earning), or associate professor (tenured). Central Florida has long been the center of space activities. With NASA Kennedy Space Center less than an hour from Orlando, several well-known companies such as Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power, and Lockheed Martin have their major headquarters in Orlando. Others such as Pratt & Whitney (Raytheon), Northrop Grumman, Blue Origin, and SpaceX have their headquarters within easily drivable distances. All these companies share the same talent pools available in this region. UCF's Orlando location also puts it at the center of the Florida High Tech Corridor. The corridor has an excellent industrial base that includes software, defense, space, simulation and training, and a world-renowned entertainment industry. Adjacent to UCF is a thriving research park that conducts over $2 billion in funded research, hosting more than 100 high-tech companies and UCF's School of Modeling, Simulation, and Training. In response to this unique locational opportunity, The Center for Advanced Turbomachinery and Energy Research (CATER) was founded to focus on student training and research on turbomachinery and associated energy systems for application in power generation, aviation, and space propulsion. CATER has 9 core faculty members at present, with a staff of 5 research faculty, 15 postdoctoral researchers, and 97 doctoral students. It collectively secured $20.3M of new external funding in FY 24-25 and graduates 13 doctoral students per year on average.

The successful candidates would be part of the UCF HYPERSPACE Center ( ), a Center of Excellence (COE) for Hypersonics and Space Propulsion at the University of Central Florida. The motivation of the center is Speed and Space with the goal of achieving ultra-high-speed flight through our atmosphere, and efficient planetary entry and exit, making space exploration and intercontinental travel as routine as intercity travel is today. The center is a national and world leading center in hypersonic and space propulsion, modeling, aerodynamics, laser diagnostics/sensors, extreme environment materials, and additive/advanced manufacturing with Government and Industry funding. The center is a hub for world-class hypersonic wind tunnels and facilities, advanced hypersonic research, training and education, technology development and innovation.

Position Summary

Skeletal Dynamics is a precision contract manufacturing facility specializing in Class II orthopedic implants (ISO 13485 certified, titanium precision machining). We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to own investigations, drive process improvements, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. This role works alongside our existing Quality Engineer (who owns document control and QMS maintenance) and focuses on the analytical, problem-solving, and process optimization side of the operation.


This is a hands-on engineering role in a fast-paced, technology-forward environment. You will be expected to leverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.), data visualization platforms (Power BI), and modern analytics to accelerate your work and multiply your impact. We are a small, high-trust team — you will have real ownership from day one.


Core Responsibilities

Investigations & Root Cause Analysis

  • Lead NCR (nonconformance report) investigations from identification through disposition, including containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
  • Own the CAPA (corrective and preventive action) process — identify systemic issues, develop sustainable corrective actions, verify effectiveness, and close out with full documentation.
  • Conduct structured root cause analysis using 5-Why, Ishikawa, fault tree analysis, and other methodologies appropriate to the failure mode.
  • Interface with customers on quality escapes, investigations, and corrective action responses.

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify, prioritize, and execute process improvement projects across machining, inspection, and post-processing operations
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and increase first-pass yield.
  • Develop and maintain statistical process control (SPC) programs; monitor Cpk/Ppk and drive process capability improvements.
  • Support process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new equipment, tooling, and process changes.
  • Evaluate and recommend fixture, tooling, and workholding improvements to improve quality and throughput.

Automation & Capital Improvement Projects

  • Evaluate, justify, and lead implementation of automation projects including robotic machine tending, automated inspection, and lights-out manufacturing capability.
  • Develop business cases and ROI analyses for capital equipment and automation investments.
  • Own project management for automation deployments — vendor evaluation, installation, validation, and production handoff.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and integrators to define requirements, review designs, and manage timelines.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual handling, improve repeatability, and increase throughput through technology adoption.

Supplier Quality Support

  • Support incoming material inspections and supplier nonconformance resolution.
  • Assist with supplier qualification, audits, and performance monitoring as needed.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to track quality metrics, NCR trends, CAPA status, scrap rates, and process capability.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2–3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical device or aerospace.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820, or equivalent regulated quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with NCR/CAPA investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.
