Senior Project Manager

Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing large-scale and complex rebar fabrication projects from contract award through final delivery and closeout. This role provides leadership to project managers, detailers, and support staff, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements, shop capabilities, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple high-value rebar fabrication projects simultaneously.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors and subcontractors.
• Review contracts, scopes of work, schedules, and estimates to ensure alignment prior to project kickoff.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost controls.
• Coordinate with detailing, fabrication, logistics, and field placement teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and contract documentation.
• Monitor project performance metrics including labor productivity, material usage, and schedule adherence.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to avoid cost overruns and delays.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and applicable codes and specifications.
• Mentor and support Project Managers and junior staff; assist with workload balancing and development.
• Participate in project closeout, including final billing, claims resolution, and lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in rebar fabrication, structural steel, or heavy civil construction project management.
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of rebar detailing, fabrication processes, scheduling, and field coordination.
• Proficiency with project management software (e.g., ASA, Bluebeam, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a rebar fabrication shop environment.
• Familiarity with ACI, CRSI, and ASTM standards.
• Experience leading teams across detailing, fabrication, and field operations.
• Background supporting estimating or preconstruction activities.

Physical & Work Requirements

This position may require occasional travel to jobsites and fabrication facilities. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, and work in an office and industrial environment.

Barton Malow is looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team in Charlotte, NC The Superintendent is responsible for the supervision and coordination of various Barton Malow team members and/or contractors who perform work and/or execute work in a timely fashion and in accordance with plans and specifications while ensuring a quality product for the owner.

One of the initial projects for this role will include an 87-acre medical campus with a freestanding medical office building (MOB) of approximately 62,300 SF and 3-stories to house potential programs such as: Oncology, Primary Care, Radiology, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, Urgent Care, Women’s Health, Lab, Retail Pharmacy, Foodservice, Administration, and Education space. The site will also include a new greenfield hospital building of approximately 152,000 SF and 4-stories. It’s an exciting time to join this expanding team!

Responsibilities:

• Assists with the development of work scopes and front-end documents for bidding to create clear and concise scopes of work, assists with bid processes, including participation in post-bid interviews and answering bidder questions, identifies potential contractors to bid based on project requirements and ability to perform intended scope.
• Enforces corporate safety policies on jobsite, including pre-task safety planning and providing key responsibility for safety compliance in the field.
• Organizes/manages day-to-day on-site field labor force.
• Supervises, coordinates, and sequences contractor’s work to minimize interference between various contractors on the project.
• Assists PM with management of overall budget and forecasting of usage, by helping to control costs and monitoring potential changes from contractors, including time and materials.
• Develop site logistics plans for the entire project with assistance to maximize productivity and minimize impacts to building occupants.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of direct supervision of projects, including trades
• 4-year technical/engineering degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required
• Strong ability to effectively communicate with all members of the team, including contractors, architects, and owners
• Ability to negotiate and professionally handle conflicts and confrontations
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and methods, performance standards, environmental regulations, and workplace safety
• Market experience can include higher education, aerospace, and sports facilities, but previous healthcare construction experience is required.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing Cambridge Properties’ site design and construction processes. Identify due diligence consultants, design service consultants, and site and general contractors, negotiate fee agreements, manage detailed timelines, permitting schedules, and review the content of third-party work product. Meet with municipal agencies to determine impact/design fees and an overall understanding of the development project approval process. Prepare all bid documents and RFPs, respond to RFIs, and review construction contracts. Support the development team in creative site designs and maintain CAD-based documents for leasing, site plans, surveys, and construction documents.  

Responsibilities

1. Manage and archive all CAD drawings. 

2. Obtain primary sources for initial site development analysis, municipal ordinance review, and schematic planning.

3. Coordinate site plans and revisions with civil and architectural design constituents.

4. Assist the due diligence process for surveys, environmental, wetlands/streams, geotechnical analysis, traffic analysis, and other due diligence items, as needed.

5. Meet with municipal agencies to review development plans and calculate impact/development fees.

6. Bid and negotiate site construction, building construction, and landscape/irrigation services.

7. Assist in obtaining construction budget numbers during due diligence of a development.  

8. Determine utility availability and coordinate utility service. 

9. Assist in obtaining development and construction permits.

10. Manage permit and construction schedules.

11. Coordinate civil and construction plans for outparcel buyers and tenants.

12. Assist in coordinating Tenant’s Work and Landlord’s Work commitments during shop leasing negotiation. 

13. Review tenant construction upfit plans and coordinate with Landlord plans.

14. Oversight of tenant’s upfit construction.

15. Ensure compliance with anchor tenant development standards.

16. Any additional coordination required by Cambridge development projects.

We’re looking for a proactive Procurement Coordinator to support purchasing and supply‑chain activities for renewable energy projects across the U.S. You’ll help source critical equipment, manage supplier communications, and coordinate logistics for large‑scale solar and energy storage (BESS) developments.

Project Leadership:
