Biologics | Facility Maintenance Supervisor

Global Life Science Hub is partnered with a science-led biologics biotech that’s building a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in New Jersey. This site is set to become a flagship hub for commercial biologics drug substance manufacturing, with 4 cutting-edge suites scaling up to 6,000L capacity in the next 24–36 months.

We are seeking a Facility Supervisor to lead and coordinate site-wide maintenance operations across facility infrastructure, clean utilities, and biologics process equipment. This role will play a critical part in establishing maintenance strategy, driving equipment reliability, and ensuring ongoing GMP readiness as the site transitions from commissioning into full commercial operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and manage maintenance projects required to support commercial biologics manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate scheduled, preventative, and emergency maintenance across GMP production suites.
• Manage CMMS/ERP work order systems and assign maintenance activities to technicians and external contractors.
• Identify future equipment, resource, and spare parts requirements aligned with production scale-up plans.
• Order and manage parts inventory for preventative maintenance, work orders, routine servicing, and emergency repairs.
• Lead development and execution of a robust Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure high equipment uptime and audit readiness.
• Oversee maintenance and reliability of:
• Single-use and stainless-steel bioreactors
• CIP/SIP systems
• Clean utilities (WFI, clean steam, compressed air, nitrogen)
• HVAC and classified cleanroom environments
• Process piping and automation interfaces
• Support Quality Improvement initiatives including investigations, deviation response reports, and CAPA implementation related to equipment and facility systems.
• Ensure full compliance with FDA, cGMP, and regulatory requirements for a commercial biologics site.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years supporting equipment within a cGMP-regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of clean utilities, facility infrastructure, and classified manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work across shifts based on business needs during ramp-up and commercial launch phases.
• Computer proficient with experience using CMMS/ERP systems.

As a Data Science/Data Engineer Intern, you will work on cutting-edge analytical and data engineering projects that drive measurable business impact across pricing, underwriting, marketing, and claims.

This internship is ideal for a technically curious, motivated problem-solver who wants hands-on data science experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the design, construction, and optimization of robust data pipelines to enable machine learning and analytical modeling.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of data and ML workflows using orchestration tools such as Dagster, Airflow, or similar frameworks.
• Help implement data quality checks, validation routines, and monitoring for automated data workflows.
• Assist in organizing and managing internal GitHub repositories to standardize ML project structures and best practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to automate the ingestion, transformation, and delivery of data for model development.
• Contribute to initiatives migrating analytical processes into cloud-based data lake architectures and modern platforms such as AWS or Snowflake.
• Develop reusable and well-tested code to support analytical pipelines and internal tools using Python and SQL.
• Conduct data mining, cleansing, and preparation tasks to build high-quality analytical datasets.
• Participate in model development, including data profiling, model training, validation, and interpretation.
• Build and evaluate predictive models that enhance profitability through improved segmentation and estimation of insurance risk.
• Assist in studies evaluating new business models for customer segmentation, retention, and lifetime value.
• Collaborate with business leaders to translate insights into operational improvements and cost efficiencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, or PyTorch) and SQL.
• Understanding of data engineering concepts, ETL/ELT workflows, and machine learning deployment.
• Exposure to workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) and Git/GitHub for collaborative development.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform preferred.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services such as S3, Lambda, EC2, or SageMaker a plus.
• Experience with common modeling techniques (e.g., GLM, tree-based models, Bayesian statistics, NLP, deep learning) through coursework or projects.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A self-starter mindset, with attention to detail and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.

SALARY RANGE

The pay range for this position is $35 hourly.

Position Summary:

The Spear Group has an excellent career growth opportunity for an experienced Owner’s Side Capital Project Scheduler to be part of an exciting life sciences capital project controls team in the Linden, NJ area. This on-site NJ Scheduler /project controls professional is an owner’s side Scheduler and supports the pharma client’s owner’s side project controls team to contribute to successful capital project delivery. This P6 Scheduler position is a key project controls team member of a highly integrated pharma manufacturing CAPEX project delivery team working to deliver a top-tier, innovative pharma manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Scheduling support with collaborative team focus driven to support planning requirements including all phases from project inception through qualification. The position requires being a self-starter while communicating with all stakeholders to provide scheduling / planning deliverables and updates as necessary.

• SCHEDULING responsibilities are to help develop, maintain, and report on the Master Project Schedule utilizing lean project management methodologies and other industry capital project delivery approaches, best practices, and tools ( i.e. Primavera 6 / P6 , OPC, TAKT, Last Planner System, Pull Planning, Netpoint….). Manage Schedule Progress Measurement/Percent Plan Complete (PPC) and variance analysis and ensure changes are captured in Project Schedule as well as communicated to PC team and project delivery team and stakeholders.
