POSITION OVERVIEW

The Drywall Estimator / Project Manager will oversee the estimating and management of drywall projects from bid through completion. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of drywall systems, materials, labor productivity, and construction sequencing. This role requires strong analytical skills to produce accurate estimates, as well as the ability to manage awarded projects to ensure they are delivered on schedule, within scope, and on budget. Effective communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams is critical, along with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and addenda to prepare detailed drywall estimates, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Know and comply with all relevant building codes, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety and quality standards.
• Manage bid process: perform quantity take-offs, prepare proposals, clarify scope, and participate in pre-bid meetings.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to support successful project delivery.
• Develop project schedules and manpower plans based on drywall scopes and coordinate with field supervision.
• Secure and allocate resources, including material orders, manpower, equipment, and permits where required.
• Negotiate and manage changes to drywall contract scope, schedule, and costs.
• Conduct site walks and inspections to verify installation methods, assess quality, and track productivity against estimates.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including change orders, RFIs, submittals, and cost tracking.
• Regularly report on project progress, financials, and variances.
• Provide leadership to project teams, fostering collaboration and mentoring staff.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field; equivalent field experience in drywall estimating/project management may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in drywall estimating and/or project management within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, wall types, finish schedules, and specifications specific to drywall and ceilings.
• Knowledge of drywall assemblies, framing systems, insulation, fireproofing, soundproofing, and finish standards.
• Proficiency in estimating software and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Timberline or similar).
• Solid computer skills with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• OSHA-30 certification preferred.

As a Senior Structural Design Engineer, you’ll oversee multiple structural projects from start to finish—designing anchorage, seismic bracing, and vibration isolation systems for HVAC, plumbing, and piping equipment. In this role, you’ll balance hands-on design work with mentorship, task delegation, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll also serve as a subject matter expert, supporting both project execution and team development.

What you will do

• Manage multiple structural projects that vary in complexity, owning design execution from inception to delivery.
• Review incoming design requests, prioritize workload, and delegate design tasks to junior engineers based on skill and capacity.
• Mentor and coach Design Engineers I and II, providing guidance on design best practices, code interpretation, and field challenges.

About the Role

As a Business Operations Intern, you’ll play a key role in keeping our fast-moving team running smoothly—from coordinating product shipments and managing our Shopify store to planning team events and supporting the cofounders on strategic projects. We’re looking for someone who moves quickly, leans on AI tools to work smarter, and has a sharp eye for design and detail. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain real experience across every facet of a growing cybersecurity startup.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage physical shipments of security products to customers, including tracking orders, preparing packages, and communicating delivery timelines
• Help manage and maintain the company’s Shopify store, including inventory tracking, product listings, and order fulfillment
• Plan and coordinate team events and travel logistics
• Support the cofounders on a variety of strategic and operational projects as priorities evolve
• Manage office supply and snack ordering to keep the team well-stocked and happy
• Leverage AI tools and agents (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, automation platforms) to streamline workflows and increase efficiency across tasks

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program at a Bay Area college or university, ideally pursuing a technical degree (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics)
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools and a strong preference for using AI agents (e.g., Claude, Lovable) to get work done faster
• A good eye for design—whether it’s formatting a document, laying out a slide deck, or organizing a storefront
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable managing logistics and coordinating shipments or deliveries
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple priorities with minimal direction
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
• Ability to work in-office in downtown San Francisco 10–20 hours per week

Preferred Skills

• Interest in cybersecurity, technology, or the startup ecosystem
• Experience with Lovable or similar AI-powered app building tools
• Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms
• Experience coordinating events, travel, or conference logistics
• Previous experience with shipping, logistics, or inventory management
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Notion)
• Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Figma) for light creative tasks
• Previous internship or work experience in an office or operations role
