The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) - Phantom Works organization is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Signature Integrity Team in St. Louis, Missouri, as a Supportable Low Observable (SLO) Lead Engineer.
This role is critical for the development of tools and processes required to sustain stealth platform signature performance on advanced Air Dominance platforms.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to a team of SLO engineers, ensuring the effective execution of SLO plans while maximizing operational availability and minimizing life cycle costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the SLO team in maximizing operational availability and minimizing life cycle costs of Boeing products with low observable design features.
- Analyze customer and system requirements to develop architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various products.
- Develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications.
- Validate designs through various methods of review, testing, and analysis.
- Implement supportability guidelines early in platform design.
- Share SLO experience and methods across low observable programs.
- Identify improvements in designs, materials, tools, or methods to reduce life cycle costs for users.
- Mature data collection and analysis tools to efficiently direct low observable maintenance actions.
- Collaborate with materials & processes, product support, and reliability & maintainability engineers.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Prepare technical specifications, procedures, and reports.
- Communicate results and status to project stakeholders, including government and suppliers.
Some travel (up to 10%) may be required to support fabrication and testing activities.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 10+ years of experience working with Low Observable (LO) Engineering Processes.
- 10+ years of work experience in Reliability & Maintainability, Product Support, or Materials & Processes Engineering.

Position Overview: Lead the development of the Signature Integrity Program to support manufacturing and sustainment of the stealth characteristics of an advanced Air Dominance platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the program's signature integrity vision.
- Integrate Signature Integrity Software, Supportable LO (SLO), and Signature Assurance and Verification (SAV) teams with manufacturing, QA, Product Support, M&P, and System Engineering.
- Oversee the development of supportability technology, maintenance and QA processes, and signature assessment methods.
- Define verification requirements, criteria, and tools, and correlate signature data for manufacturing and sustainment.
- Manage the program's signature maintenance software system.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Experience with Engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Proficiency with FEA software (e.g., NASTRAN, PATRAN)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 7+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7+ years' experience with Fatigue or Durability Analysis.
- Advanced degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
- Experience with Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) and advanced structural concepts
- Prior experience in aerospace structural testing and validation
- Experience with Spectrum Generation
- Knowledge of certification requirements and aerospace industry standards
- Experience Boeing analysis tools (LifeWorks, StressCheck etc.)
- Works under minimal direction.

Summary pay range: $103,700 - $140,300
