Job Purpose
Support the NA regional Manufacturing Execution System (MES) as a business system expert by supporting the development and direction of system strategy, standardization, and diffusion across all North American manufacturing plants, ensuring robust, repeatable, and controlled processes are in place to maximize business value and support plant characteristics enhancement. 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the development and implementation of strategies, including plans & targets, to standardize and improve the business operating capabilities of the MES for the region
  • Lead mid-sized projects/themes of varied complexity and scope through collaboration with team (plant, IT, regional engineering), including current system enhancements and feasibility studies for future products
  • Work effectively with local plant departments and regional IT to ensure system standards are created, documented, and sustained
  • Complete testing, verification, and documentation of system changes. Confirm system requirements are met during appropriate UAT timing and ensure countermeasure application on the system before change release
  • Participate in the development of a standard training program for system use and deliver it when required

 

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree related to process, manufacturing management, industrial or systems engineering, or other equivalent degree and/or experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Process Engineering or Manufacturing Systems with a focus on the automotive industry w/ Bachelor’s degree or 11+ years of experience with relevant responsibilities w/ HS diploma
  • Systems technology experience, knowledge of process engineering, business analysis skills, project management, process project design & implementation, change management, MS Office. Knowledge of QICS is a plus, but not required

Mechanical Design Engineer – ADAS Hardware Packaging

Description :

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering and strong experience in automotive product development. The candidate must have either a Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience.

The role focuses on the mechanical design and packaging of hardware components supporting automotive ADAS systems. This includes developing mechanical parts such as housings, mounting brackets and structural supports for vision systems, radar, safety sensors and related control units from initial concept through mass production.

The engineer will be responsible for full product development activities including design feasibility studies, cost analysis, strength calculations, part construction and specification definition, while coordinating prototyping, fabrication and manufacturing activities.

The position requires strong expertise in Catia V5 & V6 (including VPM Navi) along with advanced surfacing, meshing, FEA, sheet metal design, CAE, draft analysis and digital mockup (SPA). Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal forming, stamping, welding, injection molding and process control is required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong engineering capabilities in tolerance stack-up and part design optimization (function, cost and weight), along with strong project management and leadership skills to manage multiple projects and achieve technical objectives.

Lead new model projects to mass production in the plastics department while ensuring all project targets are achieved in each of the SEQCDM categories.

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Project Planning & Coordination: Define SQDCM targets, manage investment/expense items, and lead cross-functional meetings with PEBU and internal teams.

•Provide on-site support to install, system up, and mature the control system for production equipment.

Job Purpose

Lead and manage the commodity desk from a Q/C/D/Strategic perspective. About this Position: 

The Sr. Commodity Buyer is responsible for the assigned auto part’s (increased complexity) piece price, investment, and annual cost reduction, all of which have significant impact on HDMA financial performance.  Establishment of part and supplier strategies through understanding of the Global and North American supply base, manufacturing process and critical part design elements. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, gain approval, & execute purchasing “Model and Supplier Strategies” for assigned commodities/suppliers between 8~10 suppliers with $300M ~ $500M in annual spend. Commodities/Suppliers are complex in nature 
  • Research and monitor industry trends (sourcing, technology, market price) for development of Model or Supplier Strategies
  • Gain consensus on new model supplier selection, managing multiple model (13-17) developments through correlation activity with design and Honda Motor Japan

Job Purpose

As a senior member of the Advanced CAE Department, you will be responsible for creating and validating 1D CAE models and processes related to vehicle dynamics, powertrain propulsion & thermal systems, and electrical systems. Proficient use of CAE contributes to improved optimization, speed, and efficiency of our products and development processes.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop CAE methods that accurately represent the part or system of interest. Model fidelity should match the type of decision being made with the model. Model development will be for both specification setting early in development and product verification as designs mature.  During and after development of a CAE method, conduct validation of the method with respect to the physical system the method represents, to ensure the fidelity needed is achieved
  • Collaborate with test and part design engineers to understand the physical part and test procedures to accurately set the CAE model boundaries, constraints, and assumptions
  • Create documentation that clearly explains the CAE model inputs, assumptions, setup, process, validation, and outputs 
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering

Job Purpose: 

Operates independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary design and engineering teams to execute a full range of digital modeling tasks aligned with program and organizational objectives. Translates product concepts, styling intent, and engineering requirements into high-quality digital surface models. Applies advanced visualization, sculpting, and surfacing skills to deliver production-ready digital assets that meet design and manufacturing specifications. Serves as PIC for assigned area of specialty and may lead project teams as a Project Leader (PL). Key Accountabilities:

  • As PIC interfaces with design, fabrication and project teams in all phases of development, clarifying design concept/styling intent, producing finished models/package model data per project schedule, reviewing design/styling issues and conducting problem-solving to determine and/or propose styling solutions, altering/modifying models and reissuing package model data to meet project goals/technical requirements and summarizing/presenting project status/updates as needed.
  • Identifies potential styling concerns that may impact product safety, quality and manufacturability, interfacing with designers to review styling issues and recommending styling changes to promote design feasibility while maintaining design concept/styling intent.
  • Participates in project meetings, activities, and discussions, providing information and general project support as needed.

Job Purpose

Lead New Model Quality introduction through strategic planning, management, and communication to meet New Model quality targets from concept to mass production.   • Support MMC execute successful onsite build event activity for dept. in the areas of schedule, parts, associates aligned in the right place, group to group coordination, and plan vs actual reporting (Q-Gate / abnormal handwork).

Job Purpose:

  • Conduct new material technology sensing using various methods of investigation including on-line investigation, networking with local and overseas colleagues, and collaborating with material and part suppliers to gather/analyze technological data, determine feasibility, and present findings to technical management.
  • May act as Assistant Large Project Leader or Project Leader for assigned research projects of limited scope and complexity, overseeing/maintaining overall project schedule/budget/direction/progress including coordinating project targets with management, managing project work output of PLs and PICs, creating/updating material specifications and providing assistance or mentoring to PLs and PICs to ensure project quality/cost/specification targets are met,
  • May act as department PL for assigned development models, primarily of limited scope and complexity such as small regulation or marketability changes, participating in project team meetings, coordinating project resources to meet deadlines, initiating/proposing technical collaboration and negotiating strategically to gain acceptance of countermeasures to proposed design modifications.
  • As PIC for assigned research and development projects, conducts project testing & evaluation of design parts/manufacturing processes through activities including planning/executing tests, conducting failure analysis, analyzing test results, creating/revising material specifications, interfacing with design engineers to propose design changes/recommend countermeasures to ensure parts meet design specifications, and creating/presenting final reports to technical
    management.
  • Coordinates new supplier qualification activities, interfacing with laboratories selected to support project research, development, and/or testing to ensure new materials/parts quality standards are met and required documents such as confidentiality agreements/PRs are created/processed.
  • Investigates new technologies/processes for assigned special projects, including conducting market/cost benefit analysis to determine competitive advantage/feasibility and presenting concepts/findings to management for approval to test new technology/processes.
  • Actively participates in cross-training and process improvement efforts, including continuous knowledge acquisition in area of specialty, new testing technology research and tracking material science trends.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related discipline (e.g. Materials Science/Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Welding Engineering) or equivalent work experience.

 

Minimum Experience:
2+ years Engineering Experience.

 

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of fundamental engineering concepts and terminology, the units of measurement, and their interrelationship common to all branches of engineering.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to learn and advance new technologies
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to possess a high level of confidentiality.

Working Conditions
  • Travel: 1-2 times/month or more depending on project needs; includes possible international travel.
  • Physical: primarily works in test lab; frequent keyboarding; frequent kneeling, standing, reaching, squatting, bending, pushing, and lifting; Ability to push and/or lift 20-50lbs.
  • Hazards: may work with explosives/flammables, toxic chemicals, pressurized equipment; moving parts; high voltage; may be exposed to extreme cold, heat & humidity during testing & other hazards related to material testing
  • Overtime: overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.
