Patent Attorney – Intellectual Property (DC)

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Attorney to join its Intellectual Property Practice Group in Washington, DC. This role also offers flexibility for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of patent prosecution experience

• USPTO admission required
• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field
• At least 3–5 years of law firm experience

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000 – $210,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Summary

We are seeking a Superintendent to join our Project Team during 2nd shift (2p-12a) on a large Federal Project that includes new construction and renovation, with full tenant interiors buildout, and high level of finishes. The Superintendent is responsible for all field operations, including the coordination of subcontractors’ work. Responsible for all field activities associated with the project, including ultimate responsibility for implementation of Safety/Zero Harm program for the job site, supervision of all field construction work by subcontractors and self-performed work. Shares responsibility with the project manager for developing the project budget, actively participating in the preconstruction phase, and ensuring that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures. Manages and mentors assistant superintendents and other field personnel.

• Scheduling experience software application (prefer P6 experience).
• Ability to plan and maintain site logistics plans.
• Previous or current experience working in a commercial construction Superintendent role.

Preferred Experience

• DSA or OSHPD experience.

Position Overview

The Development Associate will report to the Director of Affordable Housing and play a lead role in the execution of affordable focused multifamily developments across the full real estate development lifecycle. This role requires direct experience managing transactions from site control through stabilization.

The Associate will be responsible for underwriting, application preparation, financial closing coordination, consultant management, construction oversight, and permanent conversion for affordable multifamily projects. Strong familiarity with state Qualified Allocation Plans (QAPs), investor and lender requirements, and public financing sources a plus.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and execute LIHTC applications, including financial modeling, narrative preparation, scoring strategy, and coordination with consultants.
• Manage the development process from site acquisition through lease-up and stabilization.
• Coordinate and close equity, construction debt, permanent financing, soft funds, and bond issuances (as applicable).
• Prepare and maintain detailed development budgets, sources and uses statements, and multi-year operating pro formas.
• Oversee due diligence including zoning analysis, environmental review, title and survey review, and utility coordination.
• Manage architect, engineer, legal, cost consultant, and other third-party consultants through design and permitting phases.
• Represent ownership in construction meetings; monitor schedule, budget, change orders, and draw process.
• Coordinate with state housing finance agencies and ensure compliance with QAP requirements and regulatory agreements.
• Lead preparation and submission of funding applications, including local, state, and federal gap financing.
• Support investor reporting, cost certification, and placed-in-service documentation.
• Represent the company at public hearings, neighborhood meetings, and governmental proceedings.
• Facilitate project turnover to asset management and property management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, urban planning, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of direct development experience, including full-cycle execution of at least one completed transaction - LIHTC experience a plus.
• Exposure to 9% and/or 4% LIHTC structures, bond financing, and layered capital stacks a plus.
• Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills.
• Working knowledge of construction budgeting, scheduling, and cost control.
• Familiarity with state housing agency processes and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office Suite.

A Superintendent’s role is to effectively monitor, direct, and coordinate field operations. To work together with all Project Managers and Engineers to form an effective management team for our clients. Duties to include but not limited to:

Essential Functions

• Initiates, attends, or conducts meetings with assigned employees/work crews to meet project objectives and work schedules.
• Guides and assists employees in identifying, analyzing and resolving obstacles to meet task/project schedules.
• Works with field manager in personnel alignment and scheduling to facilitate weekly action plans.
• Reviews and interprets blueprints/shop drawings and other project documents to formulate an accurate management approach.
• Provides training to Foreman, laborers and other field personnel.
• Clearly understands scope of work/responsibilities of other trades at jobsites.
• Makes routine inspections of assigned projects to verify project scope and specifications, company standards, and compliance are within local and National Electric Code.
• Accurately documents project work situations in a timely manner, both written and verbal, to ensure protection of the Company through proper documentation (i.e. possible liens and or claims).
• Ability to visualize completed work prior to installation.
• Understands and follows state, and local codes.
• Understanding and enforcement of O.S.H.A. requirements and performs safety inspections and weekly toolbox talks.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

• Must have at least seven years of experience as Superintendent with knowledge of multiple construction trades.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
• Must have an OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR Certification.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• Industrial and Government Construction experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and have excellent communication skills.
• Proficient with reading, understanding, and interpreting plans, specifications, drawings, contracts, and other documents.
• A willingness to learn and take on new challenges and to attend Continual Education Classes that supports current and future positions.
• Ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet critical deadlines.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) experience is required.

What you'll get to do...

Define the Enterprise Integration & Partner Platform Strategy

• Lead the strategy and roadmap for GoDaddy Commerce's headless commerce APIs and partner SDKs that enable external software platforms to embed payments and commerce workflows.
• Develop a clear vision for who integrates with us, why, and how — prioritizing integrations that deliver high merchant and partner value aligned to our platform core competencies.
• Build and maintain a deep understanding of partner evaluation criteria, technical architecture, and enterprise buyer needs — positioning GoDaddy Commerce competitively alongside platforms like Stripe, Adyen, and Finix.

Champion Enterprise & ISV Partner Workflows

• Serve as the voice of enterprise software partners — from technical architects to product leaders — ensuring our APIs, documentation, and certification processes reflect the needs of real integration teams. 
• Map and optimize end-to-end partner workflows: onboarding → certification → go-live → reporting → revenue share → compliance.
• Translate integration complexity (devices, stores, payment endpoints, invoicing, virtual terminals, headless POS) into scalable, configurable platform solutions.

Drive Payments & Commerce Platform Capabilities

• Partner with engineering to define APIs and services for payments, orders, catalog, inventory, customers, and sales channels that support both embedded and in-person commerce.
• Build support for advanced enterprise requirements including: 
  • Multi-entity and multi-location configuration
  • Reporting and commissions APIs
  • Activity and transaction tracking
  • Risk and fraud scoring hooks
  • Customer authentication and tokenization flows
  • Reseller administrator portal
• Collaborate with Payments, Risk, and FinOps teams to ensure accurate settlement, reporting, and reconciliation across embedded payment flows.

Influence and Collaborate with Enterprise Clients

• Meet directly with enterprise partners and resellers to understand their technical and business integration needs, gather feedback, and guide co-development pilots and close sales.
• Partner with Business Development and Solutions Engineering to support partner evaluation cycles, ensuring APIs, sandbox tools, and documentation demonstrate enterprise-grade capability and reliability.
• Translate client conversations into actionable platform requirements, balancing enterprise flexibility with platform scalability.

Deliver Hypothesis-Driven Product Discovery

• Use experimentation and partner pilots to validate API features and developer experiences before scaling.
• Measure what matters: partner integration velocity, merchant attach and retention, API usage, revenue contribution, and partner NPS.
• Continuously iterate roadmap priorities based on adoption, partner satisfaction, and ecosystem performance.

Scale and Evangelize the Partner Platform

• Collaborate with GTM and Solution Engineering to create integration blueprints, API playbooks, and sandbox environments that reduce time-to-value for new partners.
• Define certification standards and reference architectures for recurring vertical use cases.
• Share insights and findings across GoDaddy Commerce to shape our long-term platform strategy for embedded commerce and payments.

Your experience should include...

• 8+ years of product management experience in platform, API, or payments products, with deep knowledge of payments architecture and commerce primitives.
• 2+ years of ISO 8583 financial messaging experience.
• Proven success embedding payments/commerce into enterprise ISV and middleware platforms with measurable adoption outcomes.
• Expert in headless and API-first product development, including API design tradeoffs, SDK usability, and developer enablement.
• Strong client-facing skills leading discovery, solution reviews, and executive briefings with enterprise partners.
• Track record of cross-functional influence across engineering, business development, operations, and compliance teams.

You might also have...

• Experience with platforms such as Stripe Connect, Adyen for Platforms, Finix, Square Developer Platform, or Shopify's Partner APIs.
