Role Description


The Senior / Lead Building Engineer will be the on-site technical lead responsible for all building systems and day-to-day engineering operations at several assets in our management portfolio. This individual will oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), life safety, and building automation systems; manage maintenance staff and vendors; and partner closely with the on-site property management and tenant relations team to deliver a best-in-class tenant experience.


This is a full-time, on-site role reporting to the VP of Commercial Property Management.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the daily operation, inspection, and maintenance of all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, building automation, vertical transportation, and security interfaces).


  • Supervise and mentor a small team of building engineers and maintenance technicians; help coordinate daily work assignments, schedules, and training.


  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs, including scheduling, documentation, and tracking of work orders.


  • Troubleshoot and resolve building system issues promptly, minimizing downtime and disruption to tenants.


  • Oversee vendor performance for engineering-related contracts (e.g., HVAC, elevators, fire systems, controls, specialty trades), including RFPs, scope definition, and invoice review.


  • Assist property management with annual operating and capital budgets, including recommendations for building system upgrades and replacements.


  • Support capital projects, tenant improvements, and reconfigurations, coordinating with contractors, engineers, and city inspectors as needed.


  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, environmental and safety regulations, and company policies.


  • Maintain accurate records and logs, including equipment inventories, manuals, as-builts, and systems documentation.


  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial building engineering or facilities management, preferably in Class A high-rise office.

Site Superintendent

The Superintendent is responsible for the project schedule as it relates to the supervision of all field activities and physical construction. The Superintendent reports to and carries out the direction of the Project Manager regarding field operations, directing daily progress. Success depends on adequate staffing, sufficient materials, complete information, and proactive planning to avoid delays.


Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly understand Subcontractor agreements and vendor purchase orders (POs).

  • Identifying field construction and work sequence considerations when finalizing bid package purchases.

This individual will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, growing client relationships, and supporting strategic growth across the Arizona platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a growth strategy for the Phoenix construction business aligned with broader company objectives
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring consistent delivery, quality, and profitability
  • Client & Market Leadership: Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, developers, and partners across Phoenix and the Southwest
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing project teams and operational leadership within the region
  • Business Development: Partner with BD teams to expand market share and secure new project opportunities in Phoenix
  • Financial Management: Own regional financial performance, including forecasting, budgeting, and margin performance


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in construction leadership, with experience overseeing large-scale projects ($150M+) and building teams
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of growing regional operations or business units
  • Established client network and market presence within Phoenix / Arizona strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to operate at an executive level within fast-paced, growth-oriented construction environments

Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. 4 years related structural assembly experience. Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred Q-stamp preferred. Position Purpose:In a team oriented work environment, under little to no supervision, Structural Mech III perform a variety of structural assembly operations using required. tools and appropriate prints, specs and operational requirements to complete work assignment, and ensure conformance to specification. All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations. May assist and instruct other team members. Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
  1. Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensures parts/assembly meet requirements. Safely perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft .
  2. Possess the proven ability to move to new tasks with only a moderate, short-term impact to established goal hours and schedule .
  3. Rivet structural members, assemblies and parts using all tools required. to do the job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets). Ability to remove fasteners without damaging structures .
  4. Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, type size and hole pattern for rivets, cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents .
  5. Check all work and ensure a defective free assembly prior to final inspection .
  6. Instruct and assist other team members in interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders; develop methods and shop aids to resolve production installation difficulties and problems .
  7. Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g. MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs) .
  8. Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. Utilizing proper tooling, shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information .
  9. Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), Production Change Orders (PCO), performs necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity .
  10. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supports the company 5S & Lean Initiative Program and complies with all safety regulations. Use of personal protective equipment as required.
Additional Functions:
  1. Participate in continuous improvement activities .
  2. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment and returns items to tool room after use .
  3. Ensure standard operating procedures are followed when operating ground support equipment .
  4. Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags .
  5. Ensure accurate daily job charging to the aircraft .
  6. Exchange job related information and coordinate work activities between shifts through turn over report meetings and direct contact with leadership .
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
  1. Basic computer and basic shop math skills.
  2. Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions and read a scale.
  3. Must have essential personal skills and possess aptitude for hands-on craftswork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, ability to work with people and to meet demanding schedules.
  4. Must be skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of use of special tools and equipment.
  5. Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
  6. Must be able to work any shift.
  7. Must be able to climb ladders, stands, stairs, and work in small spaces or restricted areas & lift 50 lbs.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
