Manufacturing Validation Engineer

Kelly Engineering is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Validation Engineer to support equipment and process validations for a growing life sciences manufacturing organization in the North Bay. This role will play a key part in helping the manufacturing team complete critical validations as the company prepares for commercialization and production scale-up.
This position is ideal for engineers who have strong hands-on validation experience in regulated environments and can independently write and execute validation protocols, address deviations, and support the qualification of manufacturing and laboratory systems.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity based on performance and business needs.
Schedule: Monday through Friday onsite. Some overtime or occasional weekend work may be required based on business needs in a fast-moving startup environment.
What You Will Do
• Execute equipment and process validations including IQ, OQ, and PQ
• Author validation protocols, reports, work instructions, and supporting documentation
• Support equipment commissioning, qualification, and troubleshooting activities
• Investigate and document validation deviations, ensuring clear and compliant technical documentation
• Establish process controls and documentation for validated equipment and systems
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to support production readiness and scale-up activities
• Perform risk assessments including FMEA and validation impact assessments
• Support change control, deviation investigations, and CAPA activities within a regulated quality system
• Validate laboratory and manufacturing equipment such as incubators, refrigeration systems, and other controlled equipment
• Support validation activities for facility and utility systems including water systems, piping, and related infrastructure as needed
• Participate in engineering studies or DOE activities to support process understanding and operational tolerances
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, quality systems, and operational efficiency
What You Need
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred
• 5–7+ years of experience in regulated manufacturing environments such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or combination product manufacturing
• Strong hands-on experience executing IQ, OQ, and PQ validation protocols
• Demonstrated experience writing validation documentation, technical reports, deviations, and work instructions
• Knowledge of FDA-regulated manufacturing environments and quality systems (such as 21 CFR Part 820, 211, or similar GMP frameworks)
• Experience supporting equipment qualification, facility systems, or process validation efforts
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and manufacturing processes during validation activities
• Strong written documentation skills and attention to regulatory compliance
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams

Ride Control Software Engineers work within Imagineering's Ride Engineering Studio in a highly collaborative environment on diverse teams. The role of Ride Control Software Engineer Principal (Design Assurance) focuses on design, analysis, system safety, and verification across multiple projects, supporting project teams in critical engineering quality activities.

Responsibilities:
Conduct design assurance activities in standards and best practices development, partnering with ride engineering partners across Disney Experiences and the amusement ride industry.
* Stay abreast of, and participate in the development of, company and industry standards and methodologies.
* Participate in company committees and industry organizations involved in ride safety and design.
* Maintain and improve engineering processes to meet project delivery and design assurance objectives.
* Conduct design assurance activities for ride project design review and testing, partnering with ride project team members.
* Review ride software designs for compliance with industry and company standards.

Basic Qualifications:
* At least 15 years of experience with ride control software design, engineering, installation, and commissioning
* Proficient in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
* Experience with requirements development, test plans/procedures, and test execution
* Extensive knowledge of ride control software architectures
* Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
* Proficient in automated control software design applying functional safety concepts and standards
* Demonstrated practice in functional safety standards, including IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849
* Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291
* Solid skills in technical document writing and communication
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 1-week to 3-month durations
* Ability to handle multiple complex efforts simultaneously, exert influence, and manage tasks and priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of amusement industry standards applicable in US, Japan, France, Hong Kong, and China
* Proficient in Rockwell, Siemens, and Beckhoff automation software architecture and components
* Expertise in motor and motion control methods and components
* Solid understanding of kinematics as it pertains to ride systems and machines
* Knowledge of pneumatic controls and devices
* Knowledge of modeling methodologies using UML/SysML
* Experience with multitasking software platforms and design approaches

Responsibilities
In your role as a Radar Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing digital and analog circuits for our next-generation Radar system. You will drive the design and layout of a multi-processor with an FPGA on chip using DDR 4 memory, as well as designing switching and linear power supplies. As a Sr. Quality Assurance and Reliability Engineer, you'll be a part of the Production organization. Responsibilities
Work with the design, manufacturing, test, and flight teams to produce reliable products, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the business. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with flight hardware in the factory and on the plane, run investigations and containment on safety-critical products, and watch your processes build the first certifiable autonomous aircraft.
Partner with design, manufacturing, and test teams through product development, acceptance testing, and quality checkouts to create reliable hardware verification for flight components and systems, including identification of key operating characteristics, prototype development testing for functionality and manufacturability, flight and prototype planning development, and collation of test anomalies and lessons learned.
Develop and manage the quality management system to ensure compliance with processes, work instructions, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
Investigate anomalies in manufacturing, supply chain, testing, and flight, identifying and mitigating the immediate and underlying root causes to manage risk and improve the reliability of designs and processes.
Support the development, manufacturing, and verification of products using continuous improvement and statistical techniques.
Develop, implement, and validate test and inspection methodologies for new and existing products, ensuring objective criteria are consistently met and quality goals are met.
Derive, automate, and report quality metrics to the business and provide recommendations for design, product, and process improvements.
Basic Success Criteria
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Software Engineering, or a similar advanced degree
7+ years of professional experience in design engineering, manufacturing, test, software, or quality and reliability engineering
2+ years of professional experience with investigations, design of experiments, and other investigatory and problem-solving methods
Experience with quality, risk, and/or safety management systems and processes
Preferred Criteria
2+ years of experience with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory requirements (e.g., 14 CFR 21, DO-160, D0-254, etc.)
2+ years of programming experience in Python, C, or SQL with an emphasis on data analysis and automation
Experience evaluating, defining, strategizing, and executing test campaigns and procedures

Role Overview
We are seeking two highly skilled Mechanical Engineers with experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector to support the development and integration of advanced thermal management subsystems used across military and commercial platforms globally.
This role focuses on mechanical subsystem development from a packaging and integration perspective, including enclosure design and integration of electronic and fluid control components such as pumps, compressors, fans, and valves. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing aerospace-grade subsystems within defined volume and interface constraints, ensuring high reliability, environmental robustness, and compliance with industry standards.
These roles will support programs progressing from Preliminary Design Review (PDR) toward Critical Design Review (CDR) and will involve reuse and adaptation of existing product architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical enclosures for aerospace electronic and control subsystems such as thermal management systems and related subsystems
- Package and integrate COTS and custom components into customer-defined volume constraints by integrating components including pumps, compressors, fans, valves, and control electronics
- Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks preferred)
- Conduct tolerance analysis, GD&T, stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Support prototype builds, integration activities, testing, and validation
- Implement design considerations to satisfy and qualify the environmental requirements (shock, vibration, temperature, humidity, EMI/EMC interface considerations) per MIL standards.
- Collaborate with electrical, controls, thermal, structural, and systems engineering teams
- Participate in root cause analysis and design refinement
- Ensure compliance with aerospace and defense standards and documentation practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in Aerospace & Defense mechanical subsystem development

- Strong mechanical packaging and integration experience
- Experience designing enclosures housing electronics and fluid/mechanical components
- Exposure to thermal management systems (ECS, vapor cycle, or liquid cooling preferred but not mandatory)
