Responsibilities
Responsible for installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, modification, testing, and fabrication of the Reliable-designed mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical/avionics assemblies, harnessing, interconnects, and other commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products
Conduct design for excellence (DFx) reviews to evaluate designs for cost, producibility, inspectability, consistency, adequacy, accuracy, and conformance to requirements
Collaborate with design, quality, and certification teams to embed manufacturability, compliance, and risk mitigation in all phases of product development (e.g., prototype, R&D, certification, and production)
Develop and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, quality management system, technical bulletins, engineering orders, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives
Develop processes to ensure accurate, current, and complete documentation (installation and inspection records, logbook entries, etc.) is utilized and maintained
Lead root-cause analysis and implement timely corrective actions to maintain schedule, quality, and reliability
Ensure an adequate supply of tools, serviceable parts, components, and consumables necessary for aircraft servicing and maintenance is maintained
Oversee routine/non-routine aircraft installations, inspections, and maintenance to ensure aircraft safety and availability across multiple airframes
Basic Success Criteria
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, systems engineering, or 7+ years of relevant experience leading aircraft maintenance/modification operations
7+ years of aircraft design, manufacturing, inspection, and/or testing experience
2+ years of experience leading complex projects or programs in aerospace, autonomy, or robotics

In your role as Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will design, analyze, document, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the circuit board through integrated electro-mechanical level. Kelly Engineering is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Validation Engineer to support equipment and process validations for a growing life sciences manufacturing organization in the North Bay. This role will play a key part in helping the manufacturing team complete critical validations as the company prepares for commercialization and production scale-up.
This position is ideal for engineers who have strong hands-on validation experience in regulated environments and can independently write and execute validation protocols, address deviations, and support the qualification of manufacturing and laboratory systems.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity based on performance and business needs.

What You Will Do
• Execute equipment and process validations including IQ, OQ, and PQ

Basic Qualifications:
* At least 15 years of experience with ride control software design, engineering, installation, and commissioning
* Proficient in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
* Experience with requirements development, test plans/procedures, and test execution
* Extensive knowledge of ride control software architectures
* Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
* Proficient in automated control software design applying functional safety concepts and standards
* Demonstrated practice in functional safety standards, including IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849
* Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291
* Solid skills in technical document writing and communication
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 1-week to 3-month durations
* Ability to handle multiple complex efforts simultaneously, exert influence, and manage tasks and priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of amusement industry standards applicable in US, Japan, France, Hong Kong, and China

The hiring range/pay rate for Principal Ride Development Engineer is $188,400.00-$252,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Role Overview
We are seeking two highly skilled Mechanical Engineers with experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector to support the development and integration of advanced thermal management subsystems used across military and commercial platforms globally.
This role focuses on mechanical subsystem development from a packaging and integration perspective, including enclosure design and integration of electronic and fluid control components such as pumps, compressors, fans, and valves. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing aerospace-grade subsystems within defined volume and interface constraints, ensuring high reliability, environmental robustness, and compliance with industry standards.
These roles will support programs progressing from Preliminary Design Review (PDR) toward Critical Design Review (CDR) and will involve reuse and adaptation of existing product architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical enclosures for aerospace electronic and control subsystems such as thermal management systems and related subsystems
- Package and integrate COTS and custom components into customer-defined volume constraints by integrating components including pumps, compressors, fans, valves, and control electronics
- Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks preferred)
- Conduct tolerance analysis, GD&T, stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Support prototype builds, integration activities, testing, and validation
- Implement design considerations to satisfy and qualify the environmental requirements (shock, vibration, temperature, humidity, EMI/EMC interface considerations) per MIL standards.
- Collaborate with electrical, controls, thermal, structural, and systems engineering teams
- Participate in root cause analysis and design refinement
- Ensure compliance with aerospace and defense standards and documentation practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in Aerospace & Defense mechanical subsystem development
- U.S. Citizen (No Dual Citizenship)
- Strong mechanical packaging and integration experience
- Experience designing enclosures housing electronics and fluid/mechanical components
- Exposure to thermal management systems (ECS, vapor cycle, or liquid cooling preferred but not mandatory)
- Working knowledge of rotating machinery components (fans, compressors, pumps)
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred; strong experience in other platforms acceptable)
- Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Familiarity with aerospace environmental standards (MIL-STD preferred)
- Experience supporting qualification and validation testing
- Strong understanding of materials selection for aerospace applications
- Ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience packaging turbomachinery components within constrained aerospace envelopes
- Exposure to controls systems integration
- Knowledge of vibration isolation and shock mitigation techniques
- Experience supporting PDR/CDR processes

- Programming Proficiency: Expert-level coding skills in languages like Java, Python, Go, or Scala with ability to write production-quality code

- Experience building observability platforms from the ground up or significantly scaling existing solutions
