Summary of Internship:


Interns will work on all types of projects, from simple activities to more complex plans, within the Granite product suite. Interns will collaborate internally with multiple departments, organize reporting, participate in meetings, and provide updates to Project Managers.   15. Attend daily production meetings to ensure understanding and communication of daily procedures, changes to schedules, current and potential problem areas.
  16. Coordinate the work between departments, i.e. label control, compounding, production, maintenance, and warehousing..
  17. Insure proper processing, handling and storing of hazardous, flammable material such as NPA or IPA, etc. in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines.

Marginal Functions

1. Direct housekeeping to maintain clean environment.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Knowledge/Education: Thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods and techniques employed in assembly operations. Demonstrated supervisory and administrative skills. Experience: Minimum of four years production management and four year experience as a supervisor. Computer literacy and the ability to quickly learn specialized inventory and manufacturing software used at Vi-Jon. Excellent oral and written communications skills to provide direction to subordinates and interact with other managers; to provide written direction, reports, and correspondence within Vi-Jon and to outside agencies.A non-compromising attitude to operating safely in the plant for the health and welfare of all associates.Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identification of spare parts, highlighting critical spare parts, and maintaining efficient inventory levels of spare parts.
  • Completion of service ticket requests and work order assignments production equipment and some building equipment.
  • Perform repairs on mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, electrical systems and controls, including SATO printers, Stream feeder inserters and box erecting/sealing equipment.
  • Work directly with Plant Facilities Management and Asurion IT Department to execute changes, moves and/or expansions of departments and workspaces.
  • Assist Supervisor/Manager with managing vendors, holding them accountable for work requested.
  • Installation of pneumatic piping, tubing, actuators, valves, and pneumatic systems as well as electrical conduit, wiring and controls.
  • Overtime and/or extended work hours will be required to include on call.
  • Observe all applicable safe job practices and fully comply with Asurion Safety Policy.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Responsible for programming, repairing, and maintaining automated machinery or computer systems. In charge of testing and troubleshooting automated systems to ensure smooth process flow and understanding.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Detail oriented individual with good organizational skills, and proven ability to initiate priorities based on general guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks within established deadlines.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic PLC experience, including Allen Bradley RS Logix, Control Logix or similar software for troubleshooting of PLC controlled systems.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical power transmission, gearing, sheaves, shafts and bearings.

Stable, growth-focused company with strong engineering leadership Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (occasional OT) Long-term career opportunity with training and technical advancement Job Details Requirements High School Diploma or GED required (vocational or technical training preferred) 1+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance (2–3+ preferred) Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and Oracle experience a plus) Nice to Haves Experience in injection molding or automotive manufacturing Knowledge of PLC programming or robot systems Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems or CMMS software Participation in Kaizen or continuous improvement teams Responsibilities Entry Level: Perform basic facility and equipment repairs and preventive maintenance Assist with rigging, moving, and setting up machinery and equipment Conduct oil changes, clean up spills, and perform general upkeep Use hand tools safely and effectively Document all work in the maintenance system Support painting, signage, and general safety improvements around the facility Operate forklifts (training and certification provided) Pick up parts or equipment locally as needed Level 1 and Above: Use multimeters and read basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics Replace heater bands, screws, and tips on production equipment Perform basic welding and torch work safely Troubleshoot auxiliary systems and replace hydraulic valves Identify voltages and perform basic electrical work Assist in sourcing parts and communicating with suppliers Level 2 and Above: Troubleshoot production equipment and sensors Read ladder diagrams and perform higher-level electrical troubleshooting Run and install electrical wiring for all voltages Rebuild hydraulic cylinders and assist in machine setup Support robot programming and injection molding process adjustments Order parts in Oracle and coordinate with OEMs for technical support Participate in Kaizen activities and equipment improvement projects Level 3: Perform PLC troubleshooting and basic programming Lead root cause analysis and preventive maintenance initiatives Manage maintenance scheduling, PM tracking, and outside contractors Conduct ISO/TS and 5S audits and safety drills Track downtime, produce maintenance reports, and assist with budgeting Mentor and provide technical support to other maintenance team members Interested in hearing more?
