Job Overview

The Data Analytics and Insights team is seeking an experienced and talented Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team of analytics experts. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, data products, and analytic products in enterprise snowflake. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with specific expertise in Informatica and Snowflake. This role will involve working closely with our business stakeholders, data analysts, and data scientists to ensure the efficient development and management of our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize cloud-based data storage and processing solutions using Snowflake.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes
• Collaborate with Federated teams and other data engineers to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Ensure data integrity and security across all data workflows and storage solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, addressing any issues promptly to ensure the smooth flow of data.
• Develop reusable and modular stored procedures and scripts for data processing.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance and best practices.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Proven experience with Snowflake is required.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, dbt, or custom ETL frameworks).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database management.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka is a plus.

This key role drives consistency across QA systems and processes for the Clinical QA team, identifying issues and risks, escalating in a timely fashion, and aligning metrics that provide input into a compliance scorecard for Clinical programs. This leader provides insight and partners with both GCP QA staff and Clinical Operations Quality Management (OQM) to address day-to-day clinical trial operations activities focused on deviations, investigations, audit findings and CAPAs. This role operates across all the Clinical project teams and provides training with inspection readiness activities as required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing and coordinating a comprehensive view and aligning standards on Quality systems across Clinical Quality Assurance.
• Assesses current state, identifies gaps, develops an action plan, implements improvements, and monitors the Quality Systems and internal processes related to GCP QA activities
• Develops, tracks, and manages periodic management reports focused on track and trend data for key Clinical and QA metrics driving the quality health of the GCP activities.
• Reviews and approves Deviations, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs)
• Partners with other groups including Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, Translational Medicine, regarding compliance issues and provides compliance guidance
• Maintains knowledge of current Health Authority regulations and standards and informs Clinical Development stakeholders of potential impact on the organization
• Represents CQA in internal presentations on quality issues, initiatives, and projects
• Identifies issues and risks and proposes options and solutions, escalating risks in a timely manner.

• PhD degree in science (e.g., biology, chemistry, pharmacy, medical, mathematics, engineering, or a related field) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or,
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $153,500 - $217,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate's geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors. UC Berkeley's Academic Talent Development Program (ATDP) offers challenging summer classes for high achieving and motivated young K- 12 scholars. Since 1982, the program has invited excelling students from the Bay Area and around the world into a unique academic community. We look for strong students from all backgrounds who are hardworking, enjoy learning, and are prepared for an intellectually stimulating and demanding summer class. Courses are taught by outstanding public school, private school, and university instructors as well as industry professionals who have deep knowledge of their subject areas and are committed to helping students think and understand deeply.

ATDP's mission is to enable all highly motivated and prepared students to pursue their academic passions through rigorous summer coursework in a community of like-minded peers.

ATDP's Learner Outcomes state that ATDP students will be able to:

Teacher Special Programs (TSP): The TSP will teach within ATDP's summer Elementary Division (ED, grades K-6), Secondary Division (SD, grades 7-12), or Global Programs (GP grades 7-12). This involves designing, and delivering age, grade, and achievement level student-centered curricula for a particular content area within the format and time parameters of a specific course, and whose teaching philosophy is aligned with ATDP's mission and Learner Outcomes.

ATDP unites teachers who love to teach with students who want to learn. We are in constant search of qualified, temporary, part-time, high-energy, passionate, and creative instructors, co-instructors, and instructional associates (IAs) for our summer courses. While each summer's faculty cohort is generally assembled by late winter, specific openings may remain unfilled, and we will keep promising candidates in mind for future summers.

Responsibility for teaching courses in ATDP's Elementary Division (grades K-6), Secondary Division (grades 7-12), and Global Programs (grades 7-12). Final course format (online or on- site) and schedule will depend on public health orders and/or University policies as well as enrollment minimums.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, duties include: holding office hours, assigning grades, writing student evaluations, advising students, attending faculty meetings, and preparing course materials. Teachers are also required to attend a Faculty-wide pre-service meeting in May; SD instructors must attend the Student/Parent orientation in June. ED instructors must attend the Student/Parent Orientation in July. Pending public health orders and/or University policies, such events may occur virtually.

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help design, build, and scale tvScientific's contract and billing systems that support direct advertisers, internal teams, and Finance. This role focuses on building backend services that can support a wide range of contract structures and billing models while maintaining strong guarantees around correctness, auditability, and operational reliability.

You'll work on systems that must operate accurately across different commercial relationships and external partners, ensuring our contract logic remains consistent, flexible, and maintainable as the business scales.

This is a high-impact backend role at the intersection of revenue, finance, and customer operations, where clear domain modeling, data integrity, and sound engineering judgment matter more than any specific implementation approach.

What you'll do:

• Design and implement backend systems for contract lifecycle management, including creation, versioning, approvals, amendments, and renewals
  
• Build and evolve contract management capabilities (e.g., terms, payouts, attribution rules, eligibility, and partner-specific logic) for our CPA Contract/Billing model
  
• Support the expansion of CPM billing model contracts, including rate management, impression-based calculations, and integrations with billing and finance systems
  
• Develop APIs and services that serve customers, internal operations teams, and finance stakeholders
  
• Partner closely with Product, Finance, and Data teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
  
• Ensure systems are auditable, accurate, and compliant, with strong data integrity guarantees
  
• Improve system observability, reliability, and performance as contract volume and complexity scale
  
• Own backend services and data models related to contracts and billing
  
• Lead technical design discussions and make pragmatic architectural decisions
