The Hardware Engineering Directorate is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer with digital electronics design and analysis skills to join our team. 

We are looking for candidates willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with our engineers to generate and utilize today’s cutting-edge technology to design digital electronics circuits that implement missile guidance, video and digital signal processing. Our technology base includes high-speed digital electronics, configurable logic, and homogeneous / heterogeneous multiprocessor designs.

What You Will Do

The Effector Guidance Electronics Department designs digital electronic circuit cards and electronic units which are supported from proposal through transition to production. Our systems are subject to environments ranging from the frigid, sub-zero vacuum of space to the blistering heat of the desert floor, to the high pressures of the ocean depths.

The Senior Principal Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for missile applications. The candidate should be experienced in all aspects of circuit card design including hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART. 

This position is 100% ONSITE in Huntsville, Alabama.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering.

• Minimum of ten (10) years engineering digital circuit design experience

• Experience in the development and design of electronic circuit designs, and/or multi-assembly system/unit design

• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience in taking design concepts from block diagram or requirements level to development of complete hardware designs, with verification via test and integration

• Experience with PCB design process and expertise with design tools (schematic capture) to analyze and simulate designs prior to hardware execution

• Experience using Mentor Graphics Design Creation (Siemens EDA) tools: DxDesigner, xDX Designer VX, and/or Expedition

• Experience using PCB electronic circuit design software: HyperLynx signal integrity, power integrity and analog simulation, and/or Xpedition Enterprise (xPCB)

The Effector Digital Products Department is seeking an electrical engineering leader with experience in engineering management, design, test, and integration. The Section Leader will utilize advanced technical knowledge in FPGA/ASIC Design/Verification and/or Digital CCA Design, and an understand the impact of this work on other areas of the organization.

The candidate will work with section members to provide career guidance, performance feedback, and technical leadership to enable the employee for success. Responsibilities will be split between supporting program(s) as an engineer (~90%) and providing functional leadership to the section (~10%).

• Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability

• Verify designs utilizing self-checking techniques with directed and constrained random tests, while tracking functional and code coverage

• Demonstrate technical expertise in digital signal processing, FPGA/ASIC design/verification, CCA design, integration and test of radar hardware, and/or system architecture

• Lead functional or cross-disciplinary teams to meet organizational goals and project needs

An Electronics Lab Assembly/Solder Technician is responsible for assembling, cabling, and validating complex testing rack test systems. Are you a proven technical leader in industrial steam and power generation systems? Our team is seeking a Boiler & Turbine Systems Subject Matter Specialist to serve as our top authority on boiler, HRSG, turbine, condenser, and steam‑system design and performance. This is a high‑impact role supporting major industrial and pulp & paper utility operations.

What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: The Boiler & Turbine Systems Subject Matter Specialist serves as the organization’s top technical authority for industrial steam and power‑generation systems, providing expert guidance on boiler, HRSG, turbine, condenser, and steam‑system design and sizing. This role leads thermal cycle modeling, equipment specification, and system integration for both new installations and major upgrades across industrial and pulp‑and‑paper utility operations. With extensive experience in boiler and turbine projects—and preferably OEM exposure—the specialist ensures robust, efficient, and reliable power‑and‑steam solutions across the facility.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Extensive boiler and turbine projects experience across FEL/FEED through detail design and start‑up support (cogeneration/CHP, new installs, retrofits, and debottlenecking).
• Proven ability to perform and stamp/lead core calculations and deliverables: heat & mass balances, Rankine/Brayton/combined‑cycle analysis, steam/water balances, duty/flow/pressure sizing for boilers, HRSGs (single/multi‑pressure, with/without duct firing), steam turbines (backpressure & condensing), gas turbines integration, and condenser selection/sizing (duty, approach, vacuum, CW options, air‑cooled vs. water‑cooled).
• Steam system design & controls: header configuration and pressure‑level strategy, letdown/PRV stations, desuperheating/attemperation, bypass/relief and PSV sizing, condensate return, DA/feedwater systems, and overall mill steam stability and turndown.
• Creation/review of PFDs/P&IDs, equipment datasheets/specs, control narratives, and commissioning plans; vendor bid technical evaluations and lifecycle cost comparisons.

Ideal Background

Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, or Power Engineering; P.E. is preferred but not required.

Experience: 20+ years in industrial boiler/HRSG/turbine project engineering for mill utilities, power islands, or CHP.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Codes/standards and typical methods: ASME BPVC Section I, ASME B31.1, HEI condenser standards, API 611/612, API 616, TEMA, NFPA 85, and ISA valve/control practices.
• Strong working knowledge of Thermoflow (e.g., THERMOFLEX/GT PRO/STEAM PRO), or equivalent cycle modeling tools; familiarity with AFT Fathom/Arrow or PIPE‑FLO for hydraulic calculations; proficiency with Excel‑based sizing sheets and data reconciliation.
• Practical integration on pulp & paper power islands and mill utility systems (e.g., steam ties to paper machines, recovery/power boiler interfaces, load swings, islanding strategies, and balance‑of‑plant impacts).

Primary Responsibilities:

•    Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
•    Candidate must effectively communicate within a team environment.
•    Candidate must have computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office.

Provide effective technical expertise for Electrical & Control systems by designing, managing and implementing equipment solutions, based on requirements of the department’s business plan to ensure company sustainability.

• Develop, manage, and implement established E-Flow (evaluation flow) for investment projects to accomplish business plan targets.
• Complete equipment improvement activity and the decision making process to improve characteristics which empower every associate to succeed.
• Adhere to equipment installation standards (drawings, compliance, data) to effectively improve MTBF (mean time between failures) and MTTR (mean time to repair).

About the Role

The Assembly Engineer is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role critical to the successful installation, trial, and launch of assembly equipment at our Cullman, Alabama facility. This position plays a key role in bridging design, production, quality, and external contractors to ensure equipment readiness, robust process flow, and consistent part quality during line trials and production ramp-up.

This role supports both domestically and internationally sourced equipment, including close collaboration with Japan-based engineering teams. The Assembly Engineer will spend significant time on the production floor while also contributing to equipment layout planning, process flow design, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Travel—both domestic and international—as well as availability during off-hours and weekends is expected during launches and other critical production events.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support installation, commissioning, and validation of assembly equipment
• Plan, schedule, and independently run line trials and launch activities
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between design engineering, production, quality, and external vendors
• Ensure equipment readiness, process stability, and part quality during trials and ramp-up
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues on the production floor in real time
• Support equipment layout development and manufacturing process flow optimization
• Coordinate with Japan-based teams on equipment build, delivery, and launch readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related) preferred; equivalent hands-on experience strongly considered

• Strong mechanical aptitude and structured problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and lead trials in fast-paced, high-visibility environments

• Willingness to travel and support off-shift/weekend activities during launches

The Planet Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer III with 6–10 years of related experience and an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. This role supports the design, coordination, and oversight of electrical power systems, primarily within power generation or industrial facilities. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage design activities with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Power System Design

• Assist in preparing and overseeing electrical power system designs, including scope documents, schedules, and budgets.
• Develop and review single-line diagrams, elementary diagrams, wiring diagrams, layouts, and circuitry designs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, QA requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations.

Technical Leadership & Coordination

• Provide technical direction and oversight to engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment and maximum efficiency.
• Assist with system checkout, testing, and startup activities as required.

Project Execution & Oversight

• Support scheduling and coordination of engineering activities to meet cost and schedule objectives.
• Contribute to preparation of design calculations, detailed drawings, and technical documentation.
• Execute electrical design work on large-scale generating plant projects with limited supervision.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 6–10 years of related electrical engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design principles, preferably in power plant electrical system design.
• Experience providing technical direction in preparation of design details, drawings, and calculations.
• Experience coordinating and scheduling engineering projects to meet cost and schedule targets.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (CAD Overlay experience is a plus).
• High level of initiative with strong planning, organization, and execution skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with plant personnel, engineering teams, and vendors.

• Must be proficient in developing, debugging, optimizing and executing CMM programs utilizing solid models and “touch and teach” approach.
• Develop, sustain and improve CMM methods and procedures.
• Must be able to verify CMM program accuracy and conformance to requirement using conventional inspection methods.
• Must be able to interpret engineering drawings, solid models and specifications.
• Must have strong knowledge of GD&T requirements.
• Must be proficient in utilizing variety of inspection equipment and have strong practical knowledge of surface plate layout techniques.
• Perform multiple kinds of set-up, first piece, in-process and final inspections.
• Accurately make independent decisions on product disposition.
• Strong attention to details and problem-solving abilities.
• Must have effective teamwork, communication, organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to train and mentor manufacturing and quality personnel on proper CMM usage and data interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word and excel).
• Troubleshoot various problems and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
• Adhere and monitor SOP.
• Understand/ learn the nature and functionality of the products being inspected.
• Effectively communicate and notify supervisor when product non-conformances are identified.
• Must be able to accurately input all required data into the manufacturing database.
• Able to work closely with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to resolve dimensional discrepancies and ensure part compliance with specifications.
