This role plays a key part in transforming engineering concepts into detailed, accurate drawing packages used for submittals, permitting, fabrication, and field installation.
You’ll work closely with designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure drawings are clear, organized, and aligned with project intent—helping deliver high-quality BAS and MEP installations across the region.
________________________________________ What You’ll Do Produce and revise 2D AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, device layouts, risers, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
Convert engineer/designer markups into polished, accurate drawing sets.
Maintain organized CAD standards—layers, title blocks, file structures, and templates.
Develop as-built drawings using field redlines and installation updates.
Assist with project submittal packages, detail sheets, and control documentation.
Coordinate with designers, engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure drawings reflect actual conditions.
Incorporate mechanical, electrical, and architectural backgrounds into layouts for proper equipment and device placement.
Participate in internal drawing reviews to maintain accuracy and consistency.
Identify missing information, inconsistencies, or conflicts in sketches and specifications.
Ensure all drawings follow company drafting standards and version-control procedures.
Review drawings for clarity, dimensional accuracy, and constructability.
________________________________________ What You Bring Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural plans.
Strong command of CAD fundamentals: layers, scaling, lineweights, annotation, and layout organization.
High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality drawings.
Ability to work from sketches, redlines, verbal instructions, and engineering notes.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
________________________________________ Preferred Experience Drafting experience in HVAC, electrical, controls, or MEP environments.
Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, or Bluebeam.
Basic understanding of building systems such as HVAC equipment, lighting, and control devices.
Experience creating control diagrams, schematics, or one-line drawings.
Associate degree or technical certificate in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
