Job Summary:
Hands-on technician to assist with production troubleshooting and support projects to improve manufacturing methods. Assist manufacturing engineers to address equipment and tooling needs to reduce costs and improve product quality on fans, wheels, blower packages, and corresponding component parts.
Responsibilities:
- Under technical direction, troubleshoot and analyze manufacturing problems and implement corrective actions for high quality, efficient manufacturing solutions.
- Support workflow analysis, work methods, plant and department layouts for improved product flow in production.
- Help identify required tools, jigs and fixtures, or other new or special equipment required for new production or improvements to existing production lines.
- Assist in the development of justifications for the purchase of manufacturing equipment.
- Assist with the installation and debugging of production equipment.
- Update and maintain visual and written work guidelines.

Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Technology. Must have a good mechanical aptitude of general machinery.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop data-driven solutions in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Solidworks or similar 3D modeling package.
- Experience with manufacturing data analysis.
- Experience in Excel is preferred.

In this Systems Engineer role, you may support some of the following types of activities:
Core Systems Engineering: Develop system architecture and model using Model Based Systems Engineering. Conduct trade studies based on Concept of Operations. Perform Test Planning: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing
Integrate Systems: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact. Perform Platform Integration, Flight Test, Qualification, Design Verification Execution
Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
Support Missions: Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Join the JAMA team as an Intern. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 1 day a week in the office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preference is for an individual who is underrepresented in the medical writing/editing community (see American Medical Writers Association 2022 DEI survey).
- This person would train with senior manuscript editors, working with the AMA Manual of Style, reading sections and completing quizzes on style topics.
- They would observe and participate in the daily activities of JNO and specialty journal manuscript editors to get a sense of what the job is like.
- They would meet with Graphics, Production, Proofreading, and other teams with whom manuscript editors collaborate.
- Under the supervision of the Managing Editor and Assistant Deputy Managing Editor, they would edit commentaries with the eventual goal of editing a Research Letter.

REQUIREMENTS:
- The intern should be a 3rd or 4th year student at 4-year college, majoring in English, journalism, or life sciences who is interested in pursuing a career in medical editing.
This role is a non-exempt position and the hourly rate for this position is $20. This is the highest rate we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
