We’re looking for a Senior Physical Security Design Consultant to join our team in Raleigh, NC.

This is not an IT, Information Security, or Cybersecurity position.

This is not a remote position. You will be expected to be physically present in our Raleigh office most days.

What experience should you have?

• Direct experience in designing, specifying, installing, repairing, and/or programming security systems old and new, such as AMAG, American Dynamics, Assa Abloy, Avigilon, Exacq, Genetec, Gunnebo, Hanwha, Honeywell, Lenel/S2, LifeSafety Power, Software House, Tyco, Zenitel and others.
• A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in security system engineering; or an equivalent combination of experience, skills, and education.
• Certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP), or the commitment to obtaining one within a year.

What do we need you to do?

• Primary responsibility: Review building architecture design documents and create security system designs, including security management systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, video surveillance systems, and related systems as needed.
• Assess the client’s physical security needs.
• Review architectural drawings and site plans.
• Create specifications for security systems and products.
• Provide technical assistance to the client during the bid and procurement process.
• Oversee construction and installation of security systems.
• Conduct system commissioning when systems are installed.
• Conduct in-depth physical security assessments for clients. This may include perimeter security, CPTED, lighting, vegetation, fencing, policies and procedures, security operations, security personnel and staffing, security culture and program, security technology, and other topics.
• Develop strategic security programs tailored to match our clients' business cultures.
• Develop security policies, strategies, and procedures for clients in line with security requirements.
• Manage and coordinate multiple integrated security projects simultaneously.
• Cultivate and sustain positive client relationships.
• Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Develop and cultivate new business leads and opportunities through your network of contacts and relationships.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing various construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all aspects are executed efficiently and effectively. Your responsibilities in this role:

• Maintain contract documents, posting and distribution of addenda, field orders, RFI’s and Requests for Proposal
• Control shop drawings and submittals to review for contract compliance and establish a routing process to ensure that all involved in the work are kept informed
• Lead the project QC including all deviation reports, pre-pour inspections, completion lists, testing reports, etc. and actively update the Project Manager and Superintendent
• Coordinate Requests for Information to and from architectural engineer, owner and other contractors and subcontractors
• Assist in assembling proposals and prepare owner change order requests
• Maintain “As-Built” drawings; prepare final close out sets
• Secure operations manuals guarantee and warranties; assist in project close-out

What you need to qualify:

• 1-3 years of relative job experience in commercial construction highly preferred
• BS degree in Construction Management or Engineering
• Thorough understanding of industry practices and standards
• Strong foundation in database management (ex. Excel) and related industry software (ex. Bluebeam)
• Highly collaborative work style with excellent communication skills

5HV – Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) The Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit is located on the 5 th floor of the Heart and Vascular Hospital.

The staff in CSICU, a 10 bed unit, provides care for critically ill patients requiring postoperative recovery of cardiothoracic, vascular surgery, ECMO and/or intensive care interventions.

Project Manager - Make Ready Design

Location: Remote

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO AS A PROJECT MANAGER AT SIGMA:

Core Description: The Project Manager manages small to large-scale complex projects from project initiation to project close-out. Liaises between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure proper communication, accurate and on-time reporting, and management of the schedule. The Project Manager is also responsible for maintaining and growing their client(s) accounts.

Project Leadership:

• Serve as a mentor and coach to assistant project managers, offering guidance and support.

Project Planning:

• Establish, track, and control project cost, scope, schedule, and budget to deliver assigned projects in accordance with contractual agreement.

• Prepare project change orders and/or correction actions in collaboration with the client, Project Engineer(s), and Operations Manager
• Monitor and report on key metrics, customer satisfaction, and performance against objectives.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, agreements, and sales activities in the CRM system.

Project Closure:

• Ensure the orderly closure of projects, including finalizing all project activities, obtaining client acceptance, and conducting post-project evaluations.
• Document lessons learned and share best practices with the organization.

Budget Management:

• Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring financial goals are met.
• Project invoicing.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project success and develop risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project life cycle.

Communication:

• Liaises between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans are communicated.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders. Provide regular project updates to management and team members.
• Lead project update calls and in-person meetings with external clients throughout the project life cycle.

Customer/Client Relationship Management:

• Build and nurture client relationships, understanding their needs and business objectives.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional service.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Education*: H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required
• Experience*: 5+ years of relevant industry experience, 3+ years of Project Management experience *. Management may consider other education and/or work experience to be acceptable for appointment to this position.
• Project management certification preferred.
• Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and on budget.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.

Experience with PlantPAx would be beneficial; experience with Siemens or DeltaV is a huge plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop instrument lists (IO list), loop sheets, motor elementaries, and VFD diagrams for various control systems.
• Collaborate with clients to design and develop PLC systems that include HMI and SCADA, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
• Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC systems to guarantee optimal performance during installation and commissioning phases.
• Conduct training sessions for operators and maintenance staff to ensure they are proficient in operating and maintaining the systems.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for the software development life cycle (SDLC), including PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs, user manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Work closely with clients to ensure their satisfaction by meeting specific system requirements and ensuring the functionality of the systems.
• Provide ongoing technical support to clients during and after the installation and commissioning process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Professional license (e.g., PE) not required; working toward PE/EIT a plus.
• Proven track record with 5–10 years of expertise in the Rockwell PLC systems. Candidates must demonstrate mastery in developing complex PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions from the ground up.
• Expertise in Siemens (TIA Portal/S7) is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Ladder Logic and Function Block Diagrams.
• Ability to develop programs based on customer-provided documents, such as FRS and SDS.
• Expert knowledge of Rockwell Automation Software Suite, including Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME, and FactoryTalk View SE.
• Knowledge and implementation experience with industrial communication protocols – Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet/IP, Profibus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning (local travel in N.C., approximately 25%).
