Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement & Operational Support

• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance manufacturing performance.
• Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend improvements related to equipment utilization, workflow, and labor efficiency.
• Participate in cross-functional teams focused on improving manufacturing effectiveness and operational performance.

Equipment & Process Validation

• Develop and execute validation protocols for manufacturing equipment and processes.

Production Optimization

• Work with operations teams to improve material flow, workstation layout, and production efficiency.

Training & Technical Support

• Provide training and technical support for manufacturing personnel related to equipment and production processes.
• Develop visual management tools and documentation that support effective production control.

Continuous Improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Approximately 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a regulated production environment.
• Experience in FDA-regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
• Experience with batching and filling operations in chemical or liquid production environments is required.
• Knowledge of cGMP requirements and regulated manufacturing practices.
• Experience with equipment validation and process validation activities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Estimator plays a critical role within the preconstruction team. This position is responsible for leading complex estimating efforts, developing accurate and competitive project budgets, and collaborating closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients. The Senior Estimator also supports continuous improvement initiatives and mentors junior estimating staff to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across estimating operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Preconstruction & Estimating Leadership

• Lead preconstruction and estimating efforts for large-scale, complex, or high-priority commercial construction projects.
• Develop detailed conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates.

Client & Internal Collaboration

Value Engineering & Cost Control

• Develop value engineering options and cost-saving recommendations while maintaining quality and performance.
• Utilize historical cost data and market trends to enhance estimate accuracy.
• Participate in post-bid and post-project reviews to evaluate estimating performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor and support junior estimators and preconstruction team members.
• Assist leadership with developing and maintaining standardized estimating procedures and best practices.
• Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the estimating team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, including experience leading complex projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers.
• Proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

Kelly Services is looking for a production supervisor for a packaging company in Florence, KY.

This is a direct hire role and is not temporary or contract. Position is a salaried role and pays between $88,500 and $92,000 yearly with benefits that include 3 weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, health and life insurance, 401k match up to 6%, etc.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION. The hours are 7:45p-8:15a and would be on a 2-2-3 12 hour shift. Rotation would be one week you would work Mon, Tues, Sat, and Sun and the next week you would work the opposite days.

You'll also be following up on production actions, negotiation and managing staff shortages. At times, you will be relieving someone to take a lunch and will be working in their position until someone is able to take over. Position requires steel toed shoes or boots and is provided by the customer.

Essential Functions

• Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets. Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.

• Lead and motivate production teams, providing guidance and support. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Allocate tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth workflow.

• Collaborate with quality control teams to maintain and improve product quality. Implement and enforce quality control processes within the production process.

• Identify areas for process optimization, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction. Implement improvements to enhance overall production performance.

• Train, mentor, and develop production staff. Ensure that team members are adequately skilled and knowledgeable in their roles. Support ongoing training initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Implement safety protocols and guidelines to minimize workplace hazards. Conduct regular safety meetings.

• Collaborate with materials management to ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials for production. Monitor and control inventory levels to support production needs.

• Address production issues in real-time, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams as needed.

• Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality control measures, and any incidents. Ensure compliance with documentation requirements.

• Effectively communicate production goals, targets, and expectations to the team. Collaborate with other departments to streamline production processes.

Position Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma with prior leadership experience preferred.

Experience:

• 5-7 years’ experience with supervision in a manufacturing environment

• Strong Leadership Skills, Advanced leadership and coaching skills preferred

• Strong mathematical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
