You will play a critical role in the preconstruction phase by developing competitive bids, analyzing project documents, and collaborating with project teams to ensure profitable, winning proposals that align with public contract requirements and company goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze bid documents, architectural/engineering drawings, specifications, and addenda to prepare comprehensive, accurate cost estimates for municipal/public works and multifamily projects
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using takeoff software and online plan rooms; identify labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs
• Utilize ConstructConnect/iSqFt (or similar platforms) to source projects, manage bid invitations, qualify subcontractors, and track opportunities
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes; build and maintain strong relationships with local subs in the multifamily and public-sector markets

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

Senior Estimator will provide and/or coordinate full estimating services specializing in heavy civil construction projects. The Senior Estimator will manage the bid/proposal preparation with a team of estimating staff, including estimators, a support administrator, and the management team. Senior Estimator and team will follow up bid proposals with value engineering alternates, CPM schedules, formal presentations, and final negotiations with clients and construction managers. The Senior Estimator will be expected to bid/manage approximately 25-50 estimates per year, ranging from $5,000,000 to $100,000,000 per estimate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Bid item and activity setup, summary form data entry, bid pricing, bid closeout, and bid scheduling.
• Review and incorporate historical data from productivity analysis reports and combine manpower, equipment, material quotations, and subcontractor proposals into unit price and man-hour estimate figures.
• Provide complete conceptual budgets and final estimating input on all projects.
• Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids.

AECOM is actively seeking a highly skilled CEI Senior Inspector to join our team and support ongoing construction engineering and inspection efforts in the West Palm, FL area. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that major transportation and infrastructure projects are delivered in accordance with FDOT standards, contract requirements, and overall project objectives.

• Responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout
• Marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests
• Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors
• Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Sets own project deadlines
• Provides on the job training to new employees
• Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
• Perform daily field inspections and maintains inspection records
• Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning
• Tracks quality assurance progress
• Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma plus 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
• U.S. Citizenship is required, due to the nature of the work
• Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review

• Overall Purpose: Directs all outside plant engineering, planning, design, and construction activities in a geographical area. This is a supervisory role with responsibility for directing; planning; apportioning the market’s build responsibilities, including the work of employees including interviewing, selecting, and training; establishing and monitoring attainment of objectives; coaching and assessing performance; and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory policy.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Approves or recommends approval of long and short- range planning, specific and routine authorizations, including plans and specifications. Responsible for scheduling of work offers and the managing of the Outside Plant (OSP) budget. Responsible for contract negotiations for the performance of outside plant construction engineering and installation/repair of a specific area. Responsible for the operational effectiveness of provisioning OSP facilities relative to customer service activation and assurance. Directs and controls capital budget for outside plant for specific market area. Oversees the installation and maintenance of high-speed broadband service in assigned geography through general contractor partner. The job has direct and indirect supervisory responsibility for employees below Director level. Leader will directly manage the work performed by employees, contractors, vendors and or partners.
