Position Summary:

This role supports hands‑on fabrication and prototype development for hybrid-electricpropulsion systems for new and novel aircraft. The technician will build, modify, and assemble components in metals and plastics, applying aircraft‑grade workmanship, and support wiring and integration tasks for electric and mechanical subsystems. The ideal candidate is a creative problem‑solver who can work from prints and fabricate solutions from scratch when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prototype assembly: Build and integrate components, subassemblies, and test articles used in aircraft propulsion development.
• Light fabrication: Cut, drill, bend, and finish metals and plastics using shop tools and fabrication equipment.
• Wiring & integration: Route, terminate, and secure wiring harnesses, sensors, and electrical components following aerospace‑quality practices.
• Print interpretation: Read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions with minimal supervision.
• Creative problem‑solving: Design and fabricate brackets, fixtures, mounts, and test hardware from scratch when propulsion testing requires a custom solution.
• R&D test support: Assist engineers with propulsion test setups, instrumentation routing, plumbing, and iterative design changes.
• Aircraft‑grade workmanship: Apply precision fastener practices, torque discipline, and clean, repeatable build standards appropriate for propulsion systems.
• Shop organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑documented workspace aligned with aerospace and propulsion safety expectations.

Required Qualifications:

• Prototype build and assembly experience, including hands‑on integration of mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, and test articles.
• Fabrication proficiency with metals and plastics, including safe and effective use of hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment.
• Wiring and electrical integration skills, including harness routing, terminations, strain relief, and clean, organized installation.
• Ability to interpret engineering documentation, including mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and basic GD&T.
• Strong attention to detail and aircraft‑grade workmanship, including torque discipline, fastener standards, and clean build practices.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially when working closely with engineers and other technicians.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced R&D environment with evolving propulsion requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated creativity and mechanical intuition, including the ability to design and build simple fixtures, brackets, mounts, or test hardware without existing prints.
• Experience reviewing CAD models (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) for part visualization and build preparation.
• TIG or MIG welding experience suitable for light structural work.
• Experience supporting rapid prototyping, including fixtures, test rigs, or early‑stage engineering builds.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or aerospace quality systems.

Physical demands:

• Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Work in a Manufacturing Hangar environment.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Procurement

• Develop bidders list, including ability to analyze information in CPS and be aware of local market capabilities
• Develop overall bidding strategy for project
• Manage distribution of bidding documents and tracking of bidders, including solicitation of bidders and management of data within CPS
• Organize and conduct pre-bid meetings
• Manage bidder question process
• Manage development of work scopes and mentor others on their creation
• Develop front end documents for bidding based on project needs and requirements of owner contract
• Receive/evaluate bids and conduct post-bid reviews
• Write subcontracts, both standard subcontract orders and more complex types such as professional services or design-assist

Planning

• Initiate setup of a complex project schedule and creation of activities and logic, with no/little assistance on durations and schedule flow.
• Develop site logistics plans in conjunction with superintendent
• Set up a multi-element cash flow and manpower projection analysis at varying stages of the project
• Prepare constructability reviews to determine completeness of documents
• Review estimates prepared by preconstruction group for potential scope holes
• Initiate set up of jobsite, including mobilization of trailer and setup of jobsite staff

Field Operations

• Establish and oversee the safety plan at the jobsite; set safety culture at jobsite
• Ensure punchlist process is completed in a timely manner
• Assist with management of labor relations with field personnel, including interactions with unions
• Implement emergency crisis procedures and ensure staff is appropriately trained
• Manage owner equipment coordination process
• Facilitate Mechanical/Electrical overhead coordination or BIM process

Cost Management

• Create and manage general conditions budget. Monitor and update projections monthly
• Establish non-reimbursables based on interpretation of contract; work to minimize their usage
• Set up trade budget structure and log into Prolog
• Review budget entries of others and evaluate reports for accuracy
• Regularly monitor project costs and effectiveness of change management process
• Oversee creation of cost items in prolog and issuance to contractors
• Assist with processing changes to owner agreement
• Support job-site cash management, including monitoring of job profitability and timeliness of payment

Management

• Facilitate meetings with the project team
• Supervise and mentor project, jobsite staff
• Ensure RFIs and submittals are being appropriately processed by the engineering staff
• Ensure office procedures are implemented, including filing system, correspondence formats, start-up documents, closeout documents, and archiving
• Manage ultimate agency acceptance of the project, including serving as an interface to code officials
• Involvement in seeking repeat and new business sales
• Assist with response to RFPs and preparation of presentations for new projects

Can you solve large scale and cross-company issues, while ensuring that partnership with the development and operational communities remains in front of mind?

• Proficient in Threat Modeling, Architecture Review, Penetration Testing, Code Review, SAST, and DAST.
• Strong scripting abilities in languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, and PowerShell.
• Adept at applying security best practices for compliance, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

6+ Month Contract: $70-$80 per hour
Our client is in search of a Senior Java Engineer for a 6+ month contract. You will lead the development and testing of our systems and services Participate in shaping the technical architecture of the product Help translate product requirements into user stories and technical solutions Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies Communicate with project leads, product managers and other software developers

• Systems Development: Lead and participate in the development and testing of our systems and services.
